Black Hearts and Renegades, chapter 2
When school ended, I jumped on the 75 bus and took a seat in the very back. I pulled out my iPod and stuck in the earplugs. I clicked through a bunch of punk and metal bands until I finally found the Leaving Song PT. 2 by AFI. I didn't like AFI that much but when Lilly played me this song I went crazy.
Lilly and Jace where like that. They liked bands like AFI, Good Charlotte, Simple Plan and Green Day. I was kind of the odd ball and liked heavier stuff like Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed and Papa Roach. Basically all of us where punks, goths, or rockers. I mean look at Mom and Brad.
Me and Mom are the most alike. We both play the guitar and drums, and we look alike. The only thing is that she has dark brown eyes and I have blue. Other then that we could be twins if she were younger. Her wardrobe consists of black band t-shirts, tube tops, dark jeans and chains. I bet most moms don't dress like that, huh?
Brad isnt any better. Hes more of an 80's metal head then any of us. He has dark brown hair thats cut just below his shoulders. Hes probably about 6 foot, 175 pounds, lets not mention the muscles. He could kill someone if he wanted to. But his muscles where mostly covered in tattoos. Mom has tattoos too. Only a couple though.
Her first one was a green star on her wrist like the ones Billie Joe Armstrong has on his arms. She never told me why she got it exactly. Anyway, then she has Hopeless going across her knuckles and a black rose braclet on her right wrist with Brads name in the middle.
Brad also has her name on his wrist except instead of a rose it looks like barbed wire. He has so many random tattoos its hard to describe them all. He has a couple heartgrams, alot of band names, and all of the kids' names. Theres only one tattoo of his I really like though. Its a black, red and gray star on his forearm right next to the black and silver heartagram.
All the kids are like that too. They don't dress in all black but their basically punk. Even Matt gets into it. You don't see him without a black t-shirt ever. He really likes Motley Crue, I guess it was a bad idea to listen to Girls, Girls, Girls when he was in the next room.
Lilly likes Tre Cool so much that she puts bright green streaks into her hair like the color of his hair back in '94, the Dookie era. Jason like Mike, he even has his signatue bass and knows how to play Baket Case, She, J.A.R, and Brain Stew. Lilly knows how to play bass but she really likes the guitar like me.
When the bus came to my stop, I pulled the wire and got off. The house was about ten minutes away now. I walked past all the nice painted houses with picket fences in the front. I could already hear Lilly, Jason and Matt's voices from three houses down.
Jace and Lilly where still in their school uniforms. They went to a private school a half hour away from Berkely. I smirked as I realized Lilly had taken care to "fix" her uniform. Her normally white button up blouse was died black and unbuttoned showing a black Sex Pistols t-shirt. Her plaid skirt was cut just above her knees showing off her fishnet stockings. She was also wearing her ripped up chuck taylors.
"Hey Zacky," Jace said with a wave when he saw me kick over the neighbors trash can.
"Hey dude," I walked past him and into the gates of hell.
I guess I should tell you about the house. Its painted black with a white trim around the bottom. The door is a "gothic" door painted black also with a gray knocker that looks like a rose.
I walked inside which made me enter the living room. The living room was painted an off white and had black carpet with black leather seats and couches. The glass coffee table was covered in RollingStone and Kerrang magazines.
I walked up the stairs and down the hall, three dorrs down and turned right and looked at the navy blue painted door which had a Libertine poster on it AKA my door. I walked inside and threw my pack on the floor.
My room was painted dark blue, it also had black carpet, bedding, night stands, dressers, and curtains. You couldn't really see the walls because they were covered in band posters such as the Clash, Sex Pistols, Disturbed, and of course, Avenged Sevenfold.
Lilly's bedroom is right next door. Its painted blood red with a black ceiling and border. Her bed is round and has dark purple bedding. Above her bed is a large Nightmare Before Christmas poster. She was obsessed with spiders and skulls.
Jace's room was next to Matt's room. It was painted dark green. He has a king sized bed which is covered in black and gray bedding. He has Good Charlotte posters all over his room. You can barley see the floor because its scattered with clothes. He also had about ten guitars which lined the walls, signed by any band you can think of.
Next we have Matt's Halloween Town room. He loves Halloween so its painted black with splatters of orange paints on every wall. The carpet is white but filled with stains. He has pictures of skateboarders, Green Day and other weird stuff on his walls. Let me remind you that hes only three years old!
Mom and Brad's room is painted dark purple and if you look really close you can see black rose designs painted into the purple paint, its really weird. The carpet is black too. The ceiling is all mirrors so tyhey can see eachother when they sleep. Weird-os. They also have a queen sized water bed covered in black and purple bedding. A plasma TV sits over a black dresser connected to the wall.
