2000 Light Years Away, chapter 6

I stayed in the lounge after Amelia went upstairs. I enjoyed the peace and quiet. But oh - Amelia wasn't quite finished as I heard her start coming down the stairs again. She stopped in the doorway, holding what looked like a CD.
"What's that?" I asked. She didn't answer. Instead she threw the CD at me, I caught it and carried on staring at her.
"You want more than I do," She said, turning around and walking upstairs again. I could tell she was crying. I looked down. In my lap was Amelia's Green Day album. I was shocked. Maybe Amelia was feeling guilty after all. I wasn't sure. Either all, I went upstairs anyway and stood in the doorway of her room. She was sat on her bed, leant against the wall - her blue eyes fixed on the TV in her room. Like I thought, tears were dripping silently down her pale face. I came in and sat down next to her. She still kept her eyes on the tv.
"I'm so sorry," She whispered. "I knew it all along. As soon as I saw Billie up there, singing, all I kept thinking was 'Wow, that guy would be perfect for Adrienne' but we were still mad at each other so I wanted revenge for nothing and decided to have him all to myself, to make you jealous. He never loved me when he met me, he didn't even like me but I pretended I was crazy over him, especially when you met each other. My plan quickly backfired totally as as soon as you met, you fell in love. I could tell easily. That made me jealous, instead of my plan to make you jealous.
I was expecting Billie to phone you, I could almost tell that you had got each other's number but when I answered, all my jealously made me lose control, and I accused you of making it some sort-of sick revenge. Now you're going to see him, I know you are. I'm so happy for you. You two have something special. I want you to be happy. You and Billie are so made for each other I can't even describe it."
I couldn't believe my ears when I heard this.
"Oh, darling!" I said. By this time, she was crying even harder, but still in silence. I wiped away her tears and stroked her hair.
"It's okay, it's okay," I kept whispering. Her eyes were still fixed firmly to the tv. I reached for the control and flicked the tv off.
"Look at me," I said to her. Eventually, she turned her head. I kissed her lightly on the forehead and then on the nose. She smiled through tear-drenched eyes.
"I love you," I whispered. Her lips moved gently, mouthing 'I love you too' but no sound came out. I kissed her forehead again at got up, shutting the door behind me. I sighed, leaning against her door. I leant forward, trying to see the clock in my room. 6pm. 2 hours until the concert.
