2000 Light Years Away, chapter 8
I closed my eyes gently and pouted. Waiting. Waiting. Until after what felt like ages, but was only a few seconds, it hit me like a bomb as our lips met. I felt myself melt on the stool as mine and Billie's lips were stuck together like glue. I could just about hear that Mike, Tre and John had stopped talking to watch. Billie, still keeping his lips firmly on mine, stood up. I did the same. Billie gently placed his hands on my waist as I stood on tiptoes, putting my arms around his neck. We then started to do some French kissing! Of course, still with Mike, Tre and John hanging on every movement. Finally, after the best moment of my life, we broke away. His hands were still on my waist and mine round his neck. I opened my eyes dreamily and smiled. Billie smiled too. We then broke away from each other, grinning like crazy.
"Hey," Billie whispered, putting his face closer to mine. "Shall we, y'know, go some place else?" I nodded.
"Are we gonna just leave those lot here?" I asked, nodding to the three guys.
They had obviously got bored and Tre had ordered some doughnuts. This caught my eye and I stuck my head over Billie's shoulder.
"What the heck are you doing?" I asked Tre. He grinned.
"Snorting doughnut sprinkles," He said, as though it were perfectly normal. I raised my eyebrows and laughed. I then put my head back facing Billie.
"Let's take them with us," Billie said, laughing. I nodded.
"Yeah, they're great. I love them lot, I can defiantly see why you're best mates with them all."
"Yeah," Billie said. He turned around as I collected up my purse.
"Hey, do you wanna come with us? We're gonna find some place else to chill out."
"Hey, let's go to my place!" John said brightly. "It's only another block or so down the road."
The guys all started getting up and leaving. Tre paid for his doughnuts. Well, should I say, doughnut sprinkles! I caught up with them as Billie took my hand.
"I never knew you lived in Minnesota, John?" I asked him. He nodded.
"Yeah. It's just a little bachelor pad, that's all. Probably not the luxury home you might be expecting." Billie nodded in agreement.
"The bathroom...." He whispered and wafted his hand in front of his nose to say it absolutely stunk. I laughed. I checked the time on my cell.
"Oh my God!" I cried. "I've gotta go home!" All the guys gasped in unison.
"Nooooo!" Mike said.
"Hey, why don't you ask if you can sleep out tonight? I'll get the sofa, Mike can have the other sofa, Tre can be on the floor and you and Bill can get the double bed!" John said. I licked my lips in thought.
"Hmmm..." I said, punching in our home number.
Dad answered. Great. I knew exactly how to wind my Dad round my little finger. I know that sounded a bit Amelia-like, but desperate needs calls for desperate actions!
"Dad?" I said.
"Hey sweetie!" He said. I cringed as Billie listened in on my conversation.
"Hey, Dad! Erm, I'm out with Jaydee and Ella and they wanted to know if we could all crash round Ella's tonight."
"Oh, okay," Dad said.
"Yeah, so can I go? I'll walk home, it's not far. I'll be fine," I said.
"Yeah, that's okay. I'll let you. But don't you want any of your night things?" Dad still treated me like a ten-year-old, but it did still have its advantages.
"Nah!" I said. "Ella's probably got some stuff I could borrow?" I said, aiming the question at John. He shrugged.
"Probably," John whispered.
"Oh, okay, see you tomorrow sweetie," Dad said as we hung up.
"Yeah, that's fine." I smiled. Billie put his arm around my waist and we carried on walking.
