The Three of Us, chapter 1

The three of us. That's the way it always was. We were always there for each other, and we loved each other like best friends, rather than sisters.

"So you like him then?" I persistently asked Meeka, but she wasn't letting a word slip.
Me and Jayde were sitting on Meeka's king sized bed, while Meeka was busily typing away on her lap top, only ever looking up to talk to us.
"Maybe," she said with a sly smile on her face.
Gosh, I thought. She looks so much like Mischa Barton, with her long blonde hair and green blue eyes. But she had mum's gorgeous smile.
"Well, he is pretty hot," said Jayde. Jayde looked like dad more than any one. She had long jet black hair like mine and bright green eyes. She was the rebel of the family who had that attitude of I-don't-give-a-fuck-about-what-you-say.
"Yeah, but-" I started to say, but was rudely interrupted.
"Ciarra, get your arse down here now!" yelled dad from down stairs.
Jayde and Meeka laughed. "What have you done now?" Jayde asked
I shrugged my shoulders and headed down stairs, where mum and dad were both seated at the table, which had lots of papers on it.

"Ciarra," dad began. I could see that he was very pissed off at something.
"We just got your report. Why the fuck are you flunking three subjects?" dad said.
I smirked. "Only three?" I said innocently.

"Yeah, religion, science and maths," said mum.
I shrug. Dad sighs.
"You're grounded."
"What?"
"Grounded. No seeing friends, no after school activities for a week."
I groaned. "Just wait till you get Jayde's report," I said, walking out of living room and back into Meeka's bedroom.

"They saw your report, I take it?" Meeka asked, looking up at me grinning.
"Yup, and I'm grounded for a whole fuckin week!" I grumbled.
"Shit, just wait till they see mine! They're gonna flip!" Jayde said.
We sat silently on the bed for a while, each absorbed in our own thoughts, until we decided to go down stairs and have lunch.

"Wake up Ciarra, wake up!"
I opened my eyes slowly to meet my dad's bright green ones.
I groaned and rolled over, so that my back was to him.
"Come on Ciarra! Get up, you got school," dad said shaking me.
I ignored him and tried to get back to sleep.
"Do you want me to get Tre in here?" Dad said, smirking slightly because he knew what happened last time Tre woke me up.
I sat up bolt right. "I'm up!"
Dad laughed and kissed my cheek. "Breakfast is on the table." And with that, he left the room to try and wake up Jayde, who was a far bigger challenge.

I showered and slowly made my way down stairs to the kitchen table where Mike, Tre, and Jason W were all seated.
"Morning," I said, addressing the guys.
"Morning," they all said back.
I was guessing that they were all there here to practice down in the basement. Sometimes they practiced here if they were too lazy to go to the studio.

Mum walked into the room. "Morning Ciarra," she said, kissing me lightly on the forehead.
It was a matter of minutes before a wet and grumpy looking Jayde and a smirking happy-with-himself dad were eating with us on the table.
"Where's Meeka?" I asked through a mouth full of waffles.
"Talk with your mouth empty," dad said, while mum laughed softly.
I swallowed. "Like your any better," I mumbled under my breath.
"Meeka's working this morning." Mum answered.

Meeka had a part time job at the local record store, trying to earn some extra money for college, which she would be attending next year. Mum and dad said that they would be happy to pay for her, but being the self dependant and ambitious girl she was, Meeka insisted that she would earn the money, trying to squeeze in time before and after school to work.

Jayde and I, on the other hand, decided that, when the time came for us to go to college, we would graciously let mum and dad pay. I was fourteen, Jayde was sixteen, and Meeka was eighteen.

I finished breakfast and headed up to my room to do my hair and makeup. Being a rock star's slash millionaire's daughter did have its advantages. I had a big room, complete with a walking wardrobe and an unsuit. Plus, our house was massive. We had a pool, a spa, and two guest bedrooms, and each room had an ensuite.
