A Night You Won't Forget, chapter 7

The room around Megan grew cold. She opened her eyes from her resting state to glance around. Something was different about the room. She felt something has changed about the room or someone had entered. It was a feeling she did not enjoy having.
Megan got up and walked over to the door. She grabbed hold of the door handle, tried to open the door, and then noticed it was locked. That was weird. How could the door be locked from the inside? She tried once more to open the door. Nothing happened. The door wouldn't budge.
"Guys?" Megan asked through the door. She leaned her ear against the wooden panel to try and hear any movement outside the door. There was nothing happening outside.
Megan walked back over to her bed and sat down. She crossed her legs as she tried to sit more comfortable. If there was no one out there now then she would have to wait for the others. They were probably still out looking for Mike. There was no clock in the room or any way for Megan to know what time it was. Or even how much time has past. It was still dark outside; she could at least tell that.
It was then Megan started to hear the noise in the room. The sound shocked her to the bone. It sounded like someone breathing. The breathing was coming from the closet door. Megan stared the door down; expecting at any moment a maniac holding a chainsaw would come charging out of there ending her life. She slowly got up from the bed and made her way towards the door. With all the hope she had she tried the door once again and once again it was still locked. It still wouldn't budge.
"Guys." She said quietly, hoping someone out there would hear her. "Guys please open the door!"
The breathing started to get heavier. The sound filled the room and Megan's ears. Her heart dropped in her chest, her own breathing become shallow. She had to get out of this room. The fear inside her grew. The air grew thick and heavy. She just wasn't comfortable here anymore.
"Please open the door!" She started to shout louder. Her heart rate rose. She could feel the darkness taking over the room. "Please!"
Suddenly the door she had been leaning on and trying to open shook. A knock soon followed. Megan heard the voices of her friends from beyond the door.
"Megan!" She heard Andrew's voice. Hope soon entered back into Megan's mind.
"Andrew! Andrew open the door!" Megan screamed.
"It's locked I can't!"
"Please Andrew help me!" Megan cried. Tears started to form at her eyes. "Someone's in here I can hear them!"
The door to the closet all the way across the room started to slowly creak open. Megan turned her attention off of her friends and towards the closet door. Her eyes filled with fear as she watched the door open the entire way.
From the darkened closet came forth a dark figured completely covered in a pitch black coat from head to toe. When the figure entered the room so did the sense of death. Megan's breathing started to slow, her heart beat continued to rise. She couldn't believe what she was seeing.
"Megan!" Andrew shouted from the other side of the door. He tried as hard as he could to open it.
"It's not gonna budge!" Kelley cried out.
Andrew continued to ram his body against the door with every attempt to save Megan. Nothing was happening. His hope started to fade.
Inside the room Megan started to back up against the wall, putting as much space between her and the monster coming towards her.
"Andrew please help me!" She cried out as the figure came even closer yet.
Andrew tried again and again to open the door. He tried one last time before a sound came from inside the room that nearly stopped his heart.
The sound of Megan's final scream filled his mind and killed his heart. He listened to her scream one last time and then the silence that followed after. Andrew couldn't give up. He tried a few more times to open the door before it finally budged.
The room looked as if nothing had happened. There was no sign of a struggle given by Megan. Andrew ran inside the room and looked around for any sign of where Megan was. He lifted the bed up into the air and threw it against the wall. He grew angry with each moment where he did not see her passed.
Then he saw the closet door. It was still open, and still dark. Andrew ran to the door and looked inside. There was nothing. Where was she?
"Where is she?" Andrew screamed. The others stood in the doorway and watched as Andrew lost his mind over the loss of Megan. Holly was silently in the arms of Billie, Kelley was standing still and looking around the room, and Tre stood next to them all just waiting for something to happen.
"I know where she is."
Andrew turned to Holly. The tears on her face showed her pain. Andrew didn't know whether to trust her or to think she was crazy. He walked over to Holly, took her by the arms and led her into the room. He sat her down on the bed, kneeled down to her level and looked her straight into the eyes.
"Where is she Holly?"
"She's down there." Holly answered. One last tear fell down her cheek. Andrew's head fell. He again didn't know if he could trust her or even believe her.
"Holly I need you to be serious here." Andrew said. A look of fear and hatred came upon Holly's face.
"I am being serious! I'm telling you the truth!" Holly cried out. "We have to help her! She's down there, he's hurting her!"
Andrew let Holly go and paced himself away from her. He collapsed on the bed across from the one Holly was sitting on.
"I promised... I told her I wouldn't let anything happen to her." Andrew started to cry. He held his face in his hands.
"We can still go look for her." Billie offered. "I'm sure she's still alive." Billie nodded to Tre and the two started off towards the stairs. Andrew looked up enough to see them go.
"Wait, I'm coming with you." He said as he rushed past Kelley and Holly and towards Billie and Tre. Kelley motioned to Holly for them to follow the others in search for the now three missing people.
