A Night You Won't Forget, chapter 9

"Hurry into this room!" Billie shouted. He led the girls into what earlier was Andrew and Adam's room. Once they were all inside Billie shut the down and locked it. Just seconds after he did so there came a pounding on the door. "Get away from the door!"

Kelley and Holly moved towards the opposite wall as Billie stood against the door attempting to keep the figure out. With every pound against the wooden door Billie could feel it open that much more. The wood moved with his body as he tried to keep the door closed.

"What are we gonna do?" Holly screamed. Tears were falling from her face, the same tears that have been falling ever since Adam died.

"Calm down Holly!" Kelley cried out. She grabbed Holly and held her in an embrace. The pounding on the door was growing louder and louder. Billie was having trouble controlling it. "We'll get out of here. Trust me."

The pounding finally stopped. Billie felt the door stand still. No sound came from out in the hallway. Everyone in the room fell silent. No one breathed.

Suddenly iron rod came crashing through the wooden door. As it went through the door with ease it also went through Billie's torso easily. Billie's mouth filled with blood, his heart stopped pounding. The girls in front of him started to scream.

"BILLIE!" Kelley screamed at the top of her lungs. Holly held her back as she started to run towards Billie's body. Billie's eyes went from the ground to the girls.

"Get out... of... here," he muttered out through the warm blood. His head dropped.
Kelley and Holly screamed. The iron rod was pulled back from where it had come from allowing Billie's body to drop to the floor. The door was about to burst open. Kelley glanced nervously around the room.

"The windows, we'll escape out the windows!" Kelley shouted. She hurried over to the windows and lifted them up. She locked the windows open in place. Holly was the first to get out and on to the roof. She stood nervously on the ledge and waited for Kelley to follow. Kelley finally exited the room and climbed out onto the ledge of the roof.

Holly slowly moved further and further away from the window they had just climbed out. Kelley quickly followed trying as hard as she could not to slip. The rain was pouring down now and along with the wind it was making it more difficult to walk carefully.

"Andrew."

He was now at the bottom of the stairs awaiting for whatever was down there calling for him.

"Who are you?" He called out to no one.

"In here Andrew."

Andrew followed the trail of the voice. It was leading him back towards the room he and Billie had successfully escaped from.

"Where are you?" He started to shout.

"Over here Andrew, it's in here."

"What's in here?" he asked. The voice was following him back into the room where Tre had died. The blood was still on the floor, Tre's body was now in the other room. Andrew stepped further and further into the room

Come Andrew.

Andrew found himself completely surrounded by darkness. There an uneasy feeling deep inside of him. He knew only evil could come from this.

"What do you want?" he called into nothing.

Look Andrew.

"Look where?" Andrew cried.

Look closer.

Andrew leaned downwards searching for whatever might be there.

"I can't see," he called out.

A noise came from behind him. He spun around to see what it was. There on the wall was a light switch he had never seen before. He flipped the switch on and the light lit the room up. Andrew now saw what the voice was calling out to him about.

There was Megan lying on the floor.

"Megan!" Andrew cried out. He ran to her side. Placing a hand on her back he slowly turned her over so her face was facing him. "Please still be alive."

Megan's eyes began to open. A slight moan came from her lips. It took her a moment to completely wake, but Andrew was just glad she was alive. She looked around the room before finally landing her eyes on Andrew.

"Andrew!" She cried out. The two fell into an embrace. Tears started to fall from Megan's eyes.

"What happened?" Andrew asked. "What happened to you?"

"He brought me down here. I remember standing up in my room screaming. He hit me up side the head with something I can't remember what. I blacked out.
Then I woke up down here. He was standing over me, with a hook. I thought I was dead... but then someone entered the room. Someone interrupted him from killing me," Megan explained.

"Tre," Andrew whispered.

"Where is he?" Megan asked. "Is everyone else alright?"

"Tre's dead," Andrew explained. "Billie took Kelley and Holly upstairs. The figure followed them."

"Where are Adam and Mike?" Megan asked. Andrew looked down away from Megan letting her draw her own conclusion. "Oh god! We have to get out of here!"

"We are, let's get out of the basement first," Andrew said. He helped Megan up and saw she was able to walk. Megan leaned on his shoulder as they made their way up the stairs and out of the basement.

"Kelley behind you!" Holly screamed.

Kelley glanced behind her. The figure had successfully broken out the window and climbed out onto to roof. It was catching up with them.

"Go Holly go!" Kelley cried. Holly tried to pick up the pace without falling. She had no idea where she was going. Kelley glanced behind herself one more time.
The figure had gained some distance. "Go for the drain pipe!"

Holly took a moment to spot exactly where the drain pipe was. Once she saw it she slowly but surely made her way towards it. Holly looked back to Kelley who was trying as hard as she could to keep up. The figure behind her reached into his cloak and produced a knife.

"KELLEY!" Holly screamed. Kelley stood up straight at the sound of Holly's scream and spun around. The figure took a stab at Kelley and missed. Kelley nearly lost her balance. She was overwhelmed with trying to stay on the roof with both her feet while attempting not to get stabbed.

"Holly go!" She cried out. But it was no use. Holly was coming towards her for her defense. "Holly no just go!"

Kelley then turned her attention onto the figure who was about to take another stab at her. The figure draw back his arm and swung. The blow nearly hit Kelley and caused her to jump a bit in order to avoid it. She lost her balance in seconds and fall towards the ground. In an attempt to stay above the ground, Kelley grabbed hold of the gutter which lined the whole roof.

"KELLEY!" Holly screamed. The figure bent down towards Kelley. He brought his knife towards her fingers. "NO!"

Holly came charging towards the figure. Kelley watched as her friend collided with the killer. Holly started to slash around with her arms attempting to get the figure away from Kelley. In one swift movement the figure grabbed Holly by the arms and swung her away. The force behind the swing was powerful enough to not only knock Holly down but to also knock her completely off the roof.

"HOLLY NO!" Kelley screamed. All she could do was watch her friend fall to her death as she herself was dangling from the roof. Holly gave out one last blood curdling scream before she hit the ground hard. Kelley looked away from her friends body lying nearly directly bellow her. She then looked up towards the figure who was now starting to lean towards her.

In one last desperate attempt for her life Kelley banged on the gutter with one of her hands. The line of gutter she was holding onto broke away from the other and fell. Kelley's idea had worked. The line of gutter did not fall straight down but rather swung to the side as it was still attached to another line of gutter on the opposite side. Kelley was now further away from the figure with a new escape route. She climber down from the gutter and landed on the wet ground.

As Kelley ran towards the front of the house she stopped by Holly's lifeless body. She leaned down and picked up her hand. She cried for a moment, wishing there was something she could do for her. But the sound of a screeching scream came from the figure and made Kelley run back towards the entrance.
