Never Leave Me (For Jess), chapter 2

Jess P.O.V

"Looks like we got a good turn out," Olivia whispered as we got ready to play our first song, "Argh, My Ass."

Chorus:

Argh! My ass!
I sat on a cactus,
Argh! My ass!
The springs of my mattress.
Argh! My ass!
I burnt it in the fire,
Argh! My ass!
It's more than I desire.

Why are you so big?
Wiping you is like...
An archaeological dig.
I have to lug you 'round all day,
You get in everybody's way.

Chorus:

I have tried Slim Fast and detox,
But you still look fat in my red shorts.
When I get into the car,
One side sinks down to far.

Chorus x2

Tre's P.O.V

We came in, pushing our way through the crowd. I peered up at the drummer. Auburn hair, pretty...no beautiful. That was Jess.

"It's her!" I yelled over the noise to Billie.

Then they started to play. They were Adeline Records material. They ended with a song called black clouds about two and a half hours later.

As the crowd cleared, Billie made his way to the lead singer, a petit, brown haired chick, freckles scattering over her nose. Mike was checking her out and Billie, though married was looking very oddly at the bassist, a tall, blonde haired girl. My eyes found Jess.

"Jess," I jumped on the stage.

"You found me," she smiled.

"Yeah. And you're a drummer. I am too you know." I didn't think she knew who I was, she hadn't reacted like she had.

"I know. Tre Cool. Green Day is my favorite band," she laughed at my expression. "I didn't want to cause a scene," she explained softly, reading my mind. "I thought you probably got that too often."

Jess P.O.V.

He'd found me. My dream crush had found me. We talked a good bit, talking about drums and that kind of shit. And then:

"Um, will you go out with me tomorrow?" he raked his fingers through his hair nervously.

"Sure," I smiled, happy I had a date with him.

"Awesome! What about dinner or something?" he was grinning now.

"Or I have a spare ticket to the Chili's gig." Dinner wasn't fun. Gigs were.

"Better than my idea," he smiled.

"Obviously," I teased.

Tre's P.O.V

The Chili's gig! Whoo hoo!

Jess looked great, wearing a fitted Chilis t-shirt, a pair of combats with converse and her auburn hair left down.

"You look great," I smiled as I met her.

"Thanks," she grinned. "You don't look so bad."

"I'm beautiful," I yelled and Jess laughed.

Jess P.O.V

The gig was great. Awesome actually. Tre looked his usual hot self in the band t-shirt and jeans.

Once it was finished, Tre took me home.

"Can I come in?" I shook my head.

"Tell you what" I kissed him on the lips which he responded to. "Wait a few dates and then maybe"

"Sure, but I'll have to make this special" he kissed me gently.

I smiled and closed the door. I ran up four flights of stairs and got into the flat, immediately watching him from the window. Dreamy.

Tre's P.O.V

When I told the guys I was staying in Manhatten an extra week, I was surprised by the reaction. They wanted to stay too. 'Why?' I wondered, but I wasn't overly worried. I had Jess to think about.

I wouldn't say I loved her. It was far to early for that. But I liked her a lot. And we...I don't know...we...clicked. We had chemistry. And boy, was she hot!

I was kind of surprised when I took her out on another date. We were in the getting-to-know-each-other phase and we asked each other a lot of questions. One of mine was how old she was.

"Almost twenty-four," she said, which led to my next question, when was her birthday?

"Tomorrow," she replied, looking as if she wasn't bothered.

"Tomorrow! Why didn't you tell me!" I looked surprised.

"Its no big deal. Jo and Oliva might get me a small present and we might go out," she shrugged.

I was beginning to think...
