This Dream, We Die; This Blood, This Knife, chapter 1

"This place is creepy. I don't like it, I wanna go home," Emma shivered.

"Oh, stop fussing, you little pussy," Amy laughed harshly, pushing Emma's shoulder.

"Leave her alone," I nudged Amy, but I was struggling to keep calm myself.

"Oh God, where are the guys? I bet something's happened to them!" Emma continued to worry.

"Boo!" All three of us almost jumped out of our skin as laughter came from behind us. I whipped around.

"What are you playing at?!" I yelled.

"Geez, calm down," Matt shrugged. I stood up abruptly, desperate to leave. Emma instantly ran over to Ryan for safety, clinging to him.

"Pfft," Amy rolled her eyes.

"Look...can we please get going?" I asked Liam, silently begging. He understood and nodded.

"Hey guys, let's get heading. It's freezing out here," Liam said to the others.

"You're telling me!" Emma exclaimed. "It's not fair, I hate cemeteries and my ass is numb."

"Oh, for God sake, quit complaining," Amy muttered darkly. She and Matt began to speed up their pace and soon walked out of sight, ahead of the rest of us.

"Charming," I raised my eyebrows. We continued to walk, Emma still constantly whining and beginning to get on my nerves. She was interrupted by a huge bang and a loud, screeching sound.

"Oh my God!" she gasped. "What was that?!"

"This is beginning to freak me out now," I whispered to Liam.

"Yeah," he nodded in agreement. We began to speed up, Emma hysterical as a stressed out Ryan, struggled to calm her down. Suddenly her voice became muffled as a hand slipped over her mouth and a hooded figure stepped out of the shadows.

"Get out of here," it growled. "This is no time for...children to be wandering around graveyards." We began to run desperately, and only stopped to catch our breath when we were safely as far away from that horrible place as our legs could take us.

"Oh my God!" Emma gasped breathlessly. "That's the most scared I've been in my entire life!" I, myself, was shaking with terror.

"What was that thing?" Ryan shuddered.

"God knows. Let's just be glad that we got away from it! I ain't hanging out there again, man. Whose idea was it anyway?!" Liam demanded.

"Amy and Matts'...obviously," I replied, beginning to walk again.

"You guys wanna stay over at mine tonight?" Ryan asked and we all nodded eagerly, reluctant to spend the remainder of the night alone. When we arrived, we decided to call Amy and Matt to check that they were okay.

"No answer," Ryan sighed.

"Shit! What if something's happened to them?!" I panicked.

"We can't go back out there!" Emma cried, with a look of horror.

"We can't just leave them to die!" I replied. Suddenly, the door began to creak open...
