Cry your name, chapter 3
--Ava's Point of View--
I slowly blinked my eyes open. Billie Joe coming into my full view. How long had be been there? Was he watching me sleep? Was he mad? A million questions ran through my head. I sat up and was about to speak but was shhed quite by Billie.
"Listen Ava. I understand why you feel that you can't be with me or anyone for that matter. You think that somehow being with me will hurt me and you'll loose me like you lost your family." Damn he's good. "I'm here because that's not true. We've been friends, close friends, for years and nothing has ever happened to me. I'm here for you always. I'll never leave you, there is nothing that can keep me from you." he finished by softly stroking my cheek with his thumb.
I closed my eyes letting a tear fall down my face, that he smeared away with his thumb.
"Billie....I can't." I whispered trying to keep myself from balling my eyes out.
"I can't...loose..you," I choked out.
"You won't, I'm right here Ava! I'll be here always," he said taking my hand and placing it on his chest.
"I know...I know..." I said slowly pushing myself to his chest in an embrace.
"Ava, I'm gonna ask you something please say yes," he said before pulling me away and looking me in the eyes.
"Will you let me cook you dinner tonight?" he asked.
"....Yes...but I'm cooking," I smiled as me pulled me into another rib crushing hug.
--Later that Afternoon--
Tonight was my first actual date with Billie Joe. I was nervous and was rounding my third hour shopping with my friend Kristen.
"Ava please will you pick SOMETHING!" she cried exhausted.
"You don't understand, this is huge, this is monumental. My first real date with Billie Joe Armstrong." I rambled on holding three different outfits and running from rack to rack of clothes.
"You guys have been friends since...forever do you really think it matters what you wear this one time you guys hang out?" she asked.
"Yes! This isn't just one time hanging out with is a dinner date!" I yelled from under a pile of clothes.
"Yea but aren't you cooking?" she asked.
"Yes, which means that I have to look fabulous but yet comfortable, not to fancy, and casual as if I'm not planning like crazy for this," I answered.
"Uh!" she grunted as I scrambled into the fitting room.
--Billie Joe's Point of View--
"Dude this isn't just some girl this is Ava. Ava!" Tre said while throwing me a beer.
"I know," I sighed.
"You can't treat her like every other first date man," Tre lectured.
"What do you mean?"
"You know wine and dine her for an hour put on the moves using your oh so famous pick up line 'Mmm you smell good...' and then boom right upstairs you go," he demonstrated.
"So you were watching that one time with what's her name?" I accused.
"No...ok maybe...and you can't even remember her name," he said.
"I think I'll remember Ava. I mean it's Ava," I said while going towards the stairs.
"Where are you going?!" Tre called after me.
"To find something to wear," I yelled back.
--Ava's point of view--
Just fifteen minutes until Billie would be here. I had began dinner, deciding on cooking lazanga and raviolli. I had finally decided on wear a casual short black dress, with a halter top and a low neck that showed off my clevage. My hair was down and in slight curls. Suddenly I heard the doorbell. Oh god am I really ready for this?
"Hey Billie," I answered the door with a smile.
"Hey," he smiled nervously coming in and kissing me quickly on the cheek.
"I think you're a bit early I'm still cooking," I said walking back into the kitchen as he followed.
"Oh I am...huh?" he laughed scratching the back of his neck.
He leaned against the counter as I stirred the sauce for the raviolli. I could almost feel his eyes looking me up and down and from the corner of my eye I saw him pause a moment at my well presented clevage.
"So how was your day?" I asked as he pryed his eyes from me and fitched nervously.
"Pretty decent," he smiled. That was always his answer. "And you?"
"Not bad," I smiled.
A few moments of silence fell upon us while I carefully dipped my pinky finger into the sauce and tasted it. Billie staring at my actions closely. Undecided on how it was coming along I filled my wooden spoon with the sauce and lightly blew on it before placing it infront of Billie.
"Hmm. That's amazing," He said after tasting it.
"Good. I'm glad you like it," I smiled.
"I think everything is about done," I said while bending to take the lazanga out of the oven.
Billie stratched the back of his neck and offered to set the table.
After eating I placed the dirty dishes in the sink, Billie standing close. Once placing the last wine glass into the sink I felt Billie breath on my ear.
"Mmm...you...smell...'sigh' awkward," he sighed and backed away.
"I smell awkward?" I asked confused.
"No, this why is this awkward?" he asked frustrated.
"I don't know," I sighed relieved I didn't have to pretend it was fine.
"I'm just not used to feeling this way about girls. I mean usual on the first date...well you know. But I...can't," he sighed again sitting on the table and placing his head in his hands.
"It's okay Billie." I laughed at how frustrated he was getting.
"It is?"
"Yea I mean looks aren't everything you don't have to find me attractive," I said while begining to wash the dishes.
Then suddenly the water turned off. Looking at the facuet I saw that Billie had turned it off and was standing very close to me. Without a word he slid both hands tightly around my waist pulling me into his and attaching our lips. At first I was taken aback but then relaxed as his tounge soothed my own. I laced my wet hands into the hair on the back of his neck. Moments later he pulled away leaving me eyes closed wanted more.
"Don't ever think you are unattractive. I mean god look at you," He said once again looking down at my cleavage.
Just then his eyes closed slowly and he exhaled slowly. I realized that I was still playing the hair on the back of his neck.
"Oh sorry," I said shyly.
"No no keep going it feels good," he whispered.
A few silent moments later I felt something move on my thigh.
"Uh, Billie?" I said stopping my hands.
His eyes flew open and he looked down.
"Oooohh...Uh I should probably go," he smiled embarressed.
"Yea..." I agreed smiling at his embarrassment.
"I'll call you after I...uh," he said motioning to his pants.
"Yea you do that," I laughed.
He gave me one last short kiss, before leaving. For the rest of the night I couldn't stop smiling.
