Both Of Us Broken, Caught In The Moment, chapter 1
I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock blaring. I quickly got up, got dressed, and ran to the bus stop. It was my first day of freshman year, and I was pretty damn excited. Just then, I heard a familiar voice calling my name.
"Nikki!" it called. I turned around to find my friend Samantha running to the bus stop.
"Hey Sam!" I said as I gave her a hug.
"Oh my God, You have no idea how nervous I am!" Sam cried as she put down her backpack.
"Why are you nervous? You should be excited....We're going to highschool!" I cried.
"Yeah, I know that. But, if you've heard how nasty the seniors and juniors are to freshman..." she said before I cut her off.
"Yes I have...but I couldn't care less," I said with a smile as the bus pulled up. We got on and I started walking towards the back.
"Nikki, are you insane? Those seats are for upperclassmen!" Sam cried as she took a seat in the front.
"Relax Sam, If you wanna make it in high school, you gotta live a little, right?" I said as I took a seat in the back.
"Um...NO!" she cried and beckoned me to come to the front. I laughed and rolled my eyes. A few minutes later a bunch of boys came onto the bus. They all looked at me and laughed.
One boy came up to me, "Hey freshman, you're in my seat," he said staring right at me.
I laughed. "And?" I asked with a little too much confidence.
"And, I suggest you move before we have to do it for you."
I rolled my eyes. "Whatever," I said and walked to the front. They all started laughing and making fun of me as they took their seats.
"I told you Nikki..." Sam said and shook her head.
"Who was that guy?" I asked, totally ignoring what she said to me.
"The guy that told you off? That's Billie Joe." she said.
"This is perfect, my first day of school, and I've already made an enemy. Nice going Nikki," I said to myself as I sat back in my seat and sighed.
"Nikki, he's a junior. He can do those things," she said.
"Yeah I know...but, its just not fair, y'know?" I asked
"Well, I guess..." she said
"Whatever. Let's just try to get through this day, ok?" I said as the bus stopped in front of the school. We got up and grabbed our bags and walked off the bus.
"Wow! It's like...a million times bigger than middle school!" Sam cried.
"No shit Sherlock," I said and rolled my eyes as I realized how big it really was.
Sam rolled her eyes back as we walked into school. I could already tell this day was going to be very interesting.
