The Unlikely Couple, chapter 2

7:00 P.M.

Brendon had now officially been awake for 12 hours.
He listened to the sound of Stoke from Drive-By Argument asking the audience, "What was it for?" to a deafening response from the crowd.
It sounded like a pretty big audience.
Hey, what was that? Footsteps?
He turned around and found himself face to face with Ryan.
"Oh, hi," Brendon said.
"Hey, er, listen about earlier...I'm sorry. I was tired and you laughed at me."
Wow...Ryan apologising? Unheard of.
"Oh, yeah, sorry about that. I thought it was funny. Okay, apology accepted." Brendon laughed.
"'Kay."
Brendon watched as Ryan disappeared into the shadows, undoubtedly to go do some last minute snacking before the show, then turned back to his thoughts of tonight's big performance.

8:00 P.M.

Brendon sneaked a glance at Ryan.
He'd just finished "Time To Dance" and before that it was "Camisado", "Nails For Breakfast...", and "The Only Difference".
Now it was time for the cover song.
Brendon was having second thoughts now and was gonna back out, but then the intro started...
Stupid Ryan.
CRASH!
Okay, there's no way that was Ryan falling out of bed this time.
He looked round as the audience gasped.
Spencer wasn't at the drums. It was...a monkey?
And it wasn't using drum sticks...it was using....were they bananas???
Spencer was lying in a heap on the floor, and just then an elephant came charging towards Ryan.
Brendon dived in front and saved Ryan. Jon jumped off of the stage and the next thing Brendon knew...everything had gone pitch black....
