The Unlikely Couple, chapter 3
Brendon woke up. He was blinded by a light and immediately closed his eyes, ten seconds later, he re-opened them. Thats when he noticed three people surrounding him. Jon, Spencer and Ryan.
"W-w-what happened?" he asked. "Where's the elephant? And-and the monkey?" "Elephant?" asked Jon raising an eyebrow. "Monkey?"
He exchanged looks with Spencer and Ryan.
"Yeah! I'm not crazy Jon! Don't look at me like that!"
They exchanged another look.
"There was a monkey! And it was playing the drums instead of Spencer. It was using bananas instead though! And-and Spencer was lying on the floor"
They looked worried now. They thought he'd gone mad.
"Bren, that was my jacket. The thing on the floor was my jacket," explained Spencer. "You don't really think I look like a monkey do you?"
"No! I-I- But you were.... The elephant! It came charging at Ryan and I jumped in and saved him! Then Jon jumped off the stage," Brendon said desperately.
"I jumped off the stage to go get you some help; you were jumping around everywhere and then you attacked Ryan."
"I didn't attack him, I saved him!" Brendon protested.
"We know what happened now though Bren, so don't worry. You're not going mad. The heat got to you. You didn't drink enough water and you dehydrated," Jon explained calmly. "That's why you were seeing things."
"That's not what we thought though was it? We thought he was taking drugs didn't we?" Ryan laughed.
Brendon glared at him.
"Okay, so where am I? This doesn't look like my bed." Brendon asked avoiding looking at Ryan.
"Hospital," said Spencer bluntly.
"What? Why am I in hospital?" Brendon inquired.
"Well Brendon, think. You were jumping around everywhere, we thought you were on drugs and you passed out. Where did you think we were gonna take you? Disneyland?" Jon said sarcasticly.
"Would've been nice," mumbled Brendon.
Just then a nurse walked in.
"Good afternoon Mr Urie. Feeling better?" she asked.
Mr Urie? Ha! Brendon laughed to himself.
"Erm, yes, thank you. So I dehydrated?"
"Yes. So next time you're performing don't forget to drink lots of water before and during the show," she said.
She was treating him like a five year old.
"Yeah okay," he said, slightly embarrassed.
She smiled and left the room.
"Mr Urie," Ryan said to Brendon and then laughed.
"Oh shut up Ryan. It's better than Mr Ross!"
"Oh yeah?" Ryan said, hurt.
"Yeah!" Brendon yelled.
Jon and Spencer looked at each other in an oh-no-here-we-go-again kind of way.
"Well in that case I'll just leave you and your nurse alone!" Ryan shouted back.
"Fine!" Brendon screamed after him as he began to walk away. "But incase you hadn't noticed: she left the room about five minutes ago!"
"Whatever." Ryan said as he walked out of the room.
Spencer and Jon shared one last glance before mumbling goodbye and following suit.
So now Brendon was alone. Oh well. It didn't matter. He didn't need them, especially not Ryan.
He layed back on his pillow and closed his eyes.
So he was in hospital. He'd made a complete idiot out of himself infront of his fans last night. Great. He thought back to Ryans apology earlier. Why did they always fall out? And why was it that, everytime they did Brendon felt like his heart had been ripped out and torn into a million pieces.
It's like he couldn't live without Ryan...
