Bam and Me, chapter 3
I stayed over at Bam's house that night and mum called me early in the morning to tell me that my brother, Anthony, was home.
"I gotta go," I told Bam and he grabbed my arm and wouln't let go.
"C'mon, just stay here," he mumbled and pouted.
"No, my brother is home and I barely get to see him as it is," I reminded him and pried his fingers off me.
"Anthony? Ok then, come see me later then" he compromised and let me leave.
"ANTHONY!" I screamed and ran towards my famous Chilli Pepper of a brother, Yes ladies and gentlemen, my brother is Anthony Keidis master mind behind the lyrics of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. (Ok that's not true but I DO have the same last name as him 'cept for the spelling.)
"Stella!!" Anthony yelled back and picked me up in his arms and swung me around.
"How are you!" I asked as he held me at arms lenght to get a good look at me and how much I've changed over the years.
"Not bad, we just finished making our latest album, Stadium Arcadium."
"Yea I heard them advertise it on TV, it looks good!"
"Mmm, probably not as good as Blood, Sex, Sugar, Magik buts its a new road."
"Speaking of new roads, you haven't been doing drugs again have you?" I asked sternly, Anthony was a coke/herion addict and had been in and out of rehab more times than I can count.
"Nope, I've been sober for 5 years now," he smiled happily at me, I frowned at him then hugged him.
"Good, 'cause you looked nasty last time."
I spent the day with my awesome brother and we sung, danced and drove around on peoples front lawns just for a laugh. I was sad at the end of the day because I knew Anthony had to go back with his band and stuff and I probably wouldn't see him again for ages.
"Y'know what I think we should do to stop us from missing each other so much?" Anthony said as we sat on the bonnet of his car and watched the sun go down over the hills.
"What?"
"Get a tattoo."
I sat up and laughed, "Yea, um I already have my whole arm covered in stars and that hurt enough." stars were my favourite shape and I got the whole lenght of my arm covered in different coloured stars for my 21st birthday.
"Yea, well I'll get one at the same time"
"What would we get?"
"You like stars don't you? I'll get a huge star over my heart and put your name in it," he shrugged.
"Ok then, I'll get a scrap peice of paper with your name scrawled in it... you should ask if you could write it."
"Sounds cool, but why paper?"
"Because all the awesome songs you write have to be written on something"
"True, true."
We went to the local tattoo shop and got our inks done, the tattooist let me write my name in the star and Anthony wrote his name on the peice of paper. Sadly it was time once again for me to say goodbye to my brother who I loved dearly.
"Say hi to Bam for me," Anthony said as I hugged him goodbye.
"I will," I sniffed.
"I love you sis," Anthony told me and I smiled.
"I love you too big bro," I grinned, trying not to cry. Anthony got on his plane and I waved from the terminal window and watched the plane fly off.
"You ok babe?" some one said behind me, I turned around in surprise and Bam was behind me.
"Oh shit you gave me a fright, yeah I'm fine, how did you know I was here?"
"I took a guess," he shrugged.
"Look, Anthony and I got new tattoos," I said happily and showed Bam the place where Anthony had written his name.
"Cool," Bam smiled and took me home. I was always a wreck when Anthony left so Bam stayed over at my house to keep me company. We curled up on the couch and watched lame old horror movies 'til dawn.
"So what do you want to do today?" Bam asked me. I grunted and rested my head on his shoulder.
"Sleep preferably."
"Ok then, well you do that but I've gotta go back home because its been a few days since I've created a nuisence of myself and I don't want my family getting too used to the idea."
"Fair enough, I'll see you later."
Bam waved and left and I slept for the next 48 hours or maybe longer, I wasn't paying too much attention.
"I gotta go," I told Bam and he grabbed my arm and wouln't let go.
