Floras, chapter 1
A gentle breeze slid across the grassy floor in the Wood. A figure raced between the trees. The figure paused in a ray of moonlight, and turned, revealing a woman's face, the left side covered in blood. The woman tried to mop the blood with her sleeve, but it continued to flow from a deep cut on her cheek, her long black hair shining with the wet blood. The woman stood there, thinking where to go next, when a twig snapped behind her. The woman whirled around.
"You know the price," whispered a horrible voice.
"No!" the woman shrieked, falling to her knees. "Please, I didn't mean to!"
"It is time to pay..." snarled the harsh voice.
"Nooo-" but the woman's cry was cut short. There was a flash of light, and then the woman fell sideways, and slumped on the wood's floor, her throat slit.
A shadowy figure loomed over the body, the moonlight hit it's face, revealing a pair of blood-red eyes.
One year later, a man with dark red hair cowered in the corner of his hut, trembling, a deep cut shone with blood on his left cheek. The lepordpelt that covered the entrance of the hut was torn off, and a shadowy figure stood there, outlined by the moonlight.
The man trembled as hard as ever and said, "Please... I... I didn't mean..."
"You know the price..." a harsh snarl penetrated from the figure.
"No! kill me if you must...but why do they have to pay for my doings?" the man's voice was little more than a whisper.
"Very well, They will receive a blessing as well as the curse," the shadow took a step in the hut. "But you still must pay..."
The flash of light shone once more, and the man, just as the woman, fell, throat slit.
Three months later, another man, this time with blond hair and misceivious blue eyes, stood in the night dignatly befor the shadow, barley flinching as a deep gash appeared on his left cheek.
"You know the price." snarled the voice once more.
"I know the price, yes, but I heard rumors of the Blessing?" the man said questioningly
"Yes, the Blessing will be given to the as well as the curse."
"Thank you." There was another flash of light and the man fell with his throut slit
A woman with long brown hair screamed into the night as a deep cut appeared on her left cheek. The shadow snarled once agian, "You know the price."
"No!" She shrieked. "But wait, the blessing, what of the Blessing?"
"Yes they will rcseive the Blessing," snarled the voice. "But you still must-"
"No!" she screamed agian, "Why? I didn't know the rumors were true..."
"You doubt the ancient laws?" The voice sneered, outraged.
"No, no! I thought- ARG-"
The woman fell to the ground after a bright flash of light, her throat slit.
The shadow loomed over a body for the fourth time, blood-red eyes glinting in the moonlight.
"You know the price," whispered a horrible voice.
