The Poetry Teacher, chapter 5

I slid into the driver's seat and started the engine, I can't believe what just happened. How am I going to explain this to Mom? I guess I'll just never tell her until it slips out.
I arrived home in a heartbeat, but was lucky enough to not find Mom's car in the driveway. I parked with ease in the small driveway and switched off the engine. I was trying to get my breath back, since I couldn't barely breathe the whole way.
I got off the car and walked up the small steps to the front door. I fumbled with the keys, until I found the right one, and unlocked the door.
I made a small squeak as it opened, and I headed inside. I was so confused that I felt like my stomach was literally coming out of my mouth. I sat down on the couch to think things over, then my cell phone started going off. I sighed deeply, and flipped it open, it was Billie.

I was trying to sound as calm as possible and said happily, "Hey babe!"
He replied with a chuckle, "Hey Sands, so um is your mom there?"
I replied jokingly, "You want to talk to me or my mom?"
He laughed and said, "Very funny, so is the coast clear?"
I replied with a sigh, "Yes, this was so close, I was so nervous, I felt like my stomach was gonna literally come out of my mouth."
He replied sarcastically, "Well that sounds amusing, you know how nervous I was about almost doing it with you?"
I replied rolling my eyes, "Ok, tell me."
He replied, "Well, I felt like my heart was about to drop in my stomach. Could you imagine if I got you pregnant?!"
I replied, "I know! It was smart for me to stop kissing you, and you respecting my demands."
He said getting more into the conversation, "Yeah, I mean I'm so lucky I'm living by myself."
I replied, smiling, "Does that mean that you don't want me to keep you company?"
He replied, "Of course I want you to keep me company, I bet if you left, your mom wouldn't notice."
I replied sadly, "Maybe, oh there's a note here!"
He replied eagerly, "What does it say?"
I was reading it to myself, I can't believe she did this to me! Her only daughter! Tears were streaming down my eyes; she left me for a guy from work, and she's living in his house.
Billie was beginning to be concerened 'cause of my crying, so he didn't bother with the questions; he decided to show up.

I heard a slight knock on the door; I walked towards it as I was wiping my tears and straightening myself. I opened the door and Billie's calming appearance came into view. He held me into a comforting hug as my tears sunk into his shirt.
He lifted my chin up, and asked, "What happened?"
I replied, "I'll tell you inside, come in." I slid my fingers through his and led him inside; we sat on the living room couch, and I told away.
I started to say, "Bill, she left me for a guy she met at work, and she's never coming back."
Billie widened his emerald eyes and said, "Unbelievable, when did she meet him?"
I replied, "I don't know anymore, here's the letter."
He grabbed the letter from my hand and studied it throughly. He was gasping at the harsh, but yet calming voice my so called mom tried to express, and said, "You're moving in with me."
I tried to rearrange the words that he said, and I replied, "What?"
He replied, "Your'e moving in with me, I'm not leaving you here alone."
