Dawn to Dusk: A New Beginning, chapter 4

Gerard left the house dressed in his night clothes, black, black, and more black-he looked like a robber about to hold up a bank. He walked down the empty boulevard and splashed through a number of puddles.
He walked a few blocks then stopped once he heard something. He heard a shriek just an alley over.
Gerard heard struggling and whines for help. He rushed over to the other alleyway and leaned back just along the wall where he was not seen, but still able to listen.
He heard a girl crying for help and the sound of two men, "Let me go!" She was obviously tired from squirming by the way her sound of her voice. One of the men was holding her back by her arms and standing behind her.
"Listen up, girl!"He said bringing the back of his hand to her face. A drop of blood dripped down her cheek. "We've been looking for your kind roaming about the city."
"But you don't understand! We do good! We don't kill innocent people! You got it all wr-"
She recieved another slap across her face. She spit at him. He only laughed and a smile came to his face.
"Hehe, you seem to forget that you can't do anything. You are restrained, your arms held back, keeping you from wriggling free. What are you going to do about it, huh?!"
Nobody said a thing. It was quiet, nothing seeming to move around them, as if time stayed still.
The man started,"That's what I thought, nothing. You can't do a damn thing. You're just a lousy, no good, slutty woman, not capable of doing anything close to a man's job. If I let you waltz on out of here, where will you be? Out on your corner again patrolling the area looking for men wanting a "good time". It's women who destroyed everything that us working men tried so hard to create. You don't deserve to be here. Think about it."He said to her.
The man turned from the girl.
She breathed in and out heavily, her teeth clenched tight, her top teeth grinding against the bottom ones.
She looked straight forward, her eyes wide open, not a smile on her mouth. "Are you just mad because that's all a woman will ever be to you? A "good time"? That's all you think they're good for? Knowing her way around in bed? Hmm.......at least I've rocked more attractive men's worlds."
He turned around, "You! You're dead!!!"
The man holding her still began,"Frank, no. Here, use this. Make her wait a while."He threw to Frank a cloave of garlic.
"Actually, Boit. I think that's the best idea you've had yet. What do you think about that, Jara?"
Gerard's eyes bulged out of their sockets. Had he just heard what he thought he heard? Or was it him imagining things? Them saying Jara's name who had just recently come into his life just that day.
Frank took the garlic and put it to Jara's neck. She struggled and fidgeted trying to break free from Boit's grasp, but couldn't. Every second, it grew nearer and nearer to her flesh. She smelt the stench ripping through her senses, making her begin to sweat. Frank's hand had reached past her face and Jara took the oppurtunity while she had it. She bit his hand, his instant reaction pulling away.
"Owwww! Jesus, mother of!" He put his hand to his mouth and swung once again, smacking Jara's face for the third time. "You know what?! I'm really starting to not like you! I used to think you were gorgeous, now....now, you're gonna die!"
"Oh, I'm so hurt, how will life go on?"
She was smacked another time, this being the fourth time.
"You are on my last nerve, you are."
"Would you like me to break that last nerve, or wait it out?"
"Oooooo, I can't believe, ugh. I'm this close to, oooo." He flicked out a knife that was in his hand and brought it to her skin.
She tiltered her head upward toward the sky.
He brought the knife to her neck. "I'm gettting this over with right here, right now. Quick and clean, over with, done. You'll be out of my hands within a matter of seconds."
"Hold up, can I say one last thing?"Jara asked.
"Go for it, before I slit your neck now."
"Hold on,"She tried to reach into her back pocket, as Boit touched her. "Woo! Are you happy to see me?"
She grabbed hold of a knife of her own that she had hidden from the men. Jara clicked the blade out, and started spinning it between her fingers behind her back.
"Come closer,"the knife spun,"You might want to brush your teeth every now and then, cause, um....you get the picture."
He clenched his teeth tight and swished the knife to the left. Jara swirved it and kicked her leg to Frank's face. He put his hand to his head and walked in a circle in a daze. She twisted her arm around so she was facing Boit and brought her knee to his chin three times. He fell to the floor. She walked slowly over to where Frank stand, still groggy. She leaned into him and gave him a kiss. Then brought the knife that still spin in her fingers to his chest. "Sad part was, I don't know how I will live on without you."She took a deep breath. "Huh. Oh, well."
Boit got up, his fingers rubbing his forehead and went towards Jara. Without looking even behind her, she threw the knife over her head, striking Boit down. She still kneal over the body of Frank, his hair in his deep rich eyes. She looked at him as if she was looking into his soul. He moved! He pulled Jara in.
They kissed for a minute, then, it was over. He was dead.
She shook his body, hoping he was still alive. Jara collapsed on him, beginning to cry. ::What have I done?:: she thought.
She look up, and saw Gerard there, standing looking down on her, his mouth wide open.
