Dawn to Dusk: A New Beginning, chapter 5

She lay there, motionless, looking up at Gerard, who was also looking upon her. They just stared for what seemed like a lifetime, when Jara finally got up and brushed the dirt off her knees. She walked slowly, the oposite direction Gerard was standing, down the alleyway, saying nothing.
He saw her disappear around the corner. He walked calmly over to the man Jara had sat above. There the man lay, all cold and calm. His beautiful eyes were now closed, yet his hair was still in his face, the red and dark brown hanging in his eyes. His white shirt was now a mass of dark blood. He lay there, looking as if the angels desended down upon him and showered him with affection. Gerard noticed something around the man's neck. He became intruiged and intranced in this man. There was something about him that Gerard couldn't seem to understand, something he just couldn't put his finger on, something mysterious. He leaned
in and reached towards the collar of his shirt.
The man's eyes suddenly burst open. He grabbed Gerard's hand, grasping tightly, shutting off the circulation to Gerard's wrist. The man lying on the ground started talking, but all that came out was static, white noise. Gerard's heart beat jumped. He was beating in and out every second, very heavily. He tried to back away, trying to pull his arm free. He felt the grasp of the man let go, and fell back a few steps to the ground.
He looked over to the man, motionless, still. Nothing had changed from when he first saw the man; his hair was still in his eyes in the same pattern and his eyes were still shut. Had he just imagined that whole thing? There was no for sure answer. No one was around to see, and no one knew exactally. Gerard tried to calm himself down, his heart still racing with no traces of ever stopping. He picked himself up off the ground and went back over to the body, cautiously this time. He slowly reached his hand towards the man's neck. What was this? The next thing Gerard saw shocked him almost to death. How? Why? the questions kept going through his head. There, on Frank's neck, were two holes made by a vampire years ago. How? Why would he kill his own kind? It all didn't add up. Nothing seemed to any more. While still knealing there contemplating, Gerard heard the sound of sirens. He calmly got up and started walking away without a care in the world.
At home, he walked in and slammed the door shut, only to find Jara standing there right behind it.
"Great."
"Yeah, I'm so glad to see you too."she replied.
"Well, you broke into MY house, not the other way around."
"Listen, we have to talk." she said in a more serious tone.
"Yeah,"he threw his jacket over a chair and had a serious look on his face,"I was just going to say that."
"Yeah,"she looked to the floor.
"Let's go to the other room, it'll be easier to talk there," Gerard said leading Jara into the library.
She entered the room with a negative vibe. A drop of sweat dripped down her face. She took a set on the couch and Gerard sat on a chair just across from it.
Jara looked uncomfortable sitting down in that room. The walls seemed to scream out and only make it more uneasy to talk about the situation the two were in.
Jara began...
