Every Rose Has A Thorn, chapter 1
Billie and Tre walked into Starbucks, where they saw Mike sitting with a pretty blond girl. Tre paused, and his mouth dropped open. It was his ex, Hilary. Her long hair was braided down her back, and her lips were shining with lip gloss. They walked over to the new couple, and sat down.
"So this is your new girlfriend?" Billie asked.
"Yep. I'm very proud of it," Mike replied with a smile, he kissed her cheek, and she blushed slightly.
"Great." Billie congratulated his friend with a rare smile.
"Hey, Hilary," Tre said quietly, looking at his feet. She nodded at him.
"Where's Adrienna?" Mike asked curiously.
"It's Adrienne, Mike." Billie corrected him.
"No, not your Adie, Hilary has a sister named Adrienna." Mike said cheerfully.
"Oh." Billie paused, not knowing what to say.
"She's coming. She said she'd be a bit late because of traffic." Hilary answered. At that moment, the door to Starbucks opened and a pretty girl with tan skin entered. She spotted Hilary, and joined them at the table.
"Hey, Hilary." she smiled, looking around. A look of dawning realization crossed her face.
"Hi, Adie," Hilary grinned.
"Are these the members of the greatest band on earth, Green Day?" Adrienna murmured, staring at each of them in turn. She nodded to herself.
"Yep. I'm Billie, this here's Tre, and that's Mike." Billie shrugged, shaking her hand. Tre kissed her cheek in greeting. Adrienna shook her head in disbelief, and then shrugged.
"Okay. So, after coffee, what do you want to do?" she asked. "I mean, besides the obvious, Tre." she added pointedly. Tre grinned sheepishly.
"How about a party at my place?" Billie suggested. They all agreed to this.
"Can I pick the tunes?" Adrienna asked eagerly.
"I want to. It's my house," Billie frowned.
"I'll fight you for it?" Adrienna challenged him. He looked at her blankly.
"You're challenging me to a fight?" she nodded. "Okay, but I am so gonna kick your ass." he smiled.
"Right. We'll see," Adrienna smirked. She advanced on him, and the others backed away. They circled around each other for a few seconds, then Adrienna darted in and delivered a harsh punch to his chest. Billie grabbed her arm and flipped her over. She landed hard, and pulled him down. Her black boot collided with his shin, and he yelped. She finally sat on him, pinning him down and threatening to punch him.
"Okay, okay. I give." he gasped, and she got off him. Her dark jeans were covered in dust, and her brown hair was strewn about her head.
"Okay. I'm gonna go with...Queen, the ramones, and Green Day," she declared.
"You could've just said so, that's what I was gonna choose!" Billie grumbled.
"Ohh, I'm sorry, Billie! Shame, shame on me and my worthless brain. I apologize for doing that!" she said in a mocking voice. Her eyes glimmered with amusement.
"I don't give a fuck if I hurt you, unless I hurt you so bad that you're unable to play guitar. Then I'd probably kill myself."
"Fine, whatever. Let's go," he snapped.
"Sorry for Billie's behavior, he's just embarrassed that a girl beat him in a fight." Tre giggled.
"Shut it, Tre." Billie snarled.
"Okay, okay..." Tre stopped taunting him, but he did it reluctantly. They got into Billie's car and started to drive away.
"I FORGOT MY COFFEE!" Tre screamed. He started to yelp, and hammered on the windows.
"Tre, be quiet and sit still." Mike ordered. Hilary just laughed. Adrienna pulled him down onto his seat and poured the remains of her coffee down his shirt.
"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!" he yelled, and tore his shirt off, throwing it in Billie's face. Billie swerved, and nearly hit a telephone pole.
"Relax, it's cold." Adrienna laughed.
"Right, I knew that." Tre shuddered as the ice cubes slid down his back. Mike brushed them away. Tre picked one up and put it down Billie's shirt. Billie yelped and took his hands off the wheel to remove the ice cube. Mike had to grab the wheel to avoid crashing into anything or anyone.
"Damn, Adreinna! You know how to cause chaos, that's for sure!" Hilary said excitedly. Adie smiled.
"Thank you, thank you very much." She did an Elvis impersonation as she said it.
"Okay, we're here. Now get out of the car before I throw you out." Billie said in exasperation. He sighed as Tre started to put his arm around Adrienna's shoulders. She growled at him. Literally. He put his hands back at his sides.
"Okay, so how are we gonna explain this Adrienne?" Billie asked blankly.
"We're not. Does she have to know?" Hilary said devilishly. She pulled Mike into the house, leaving Tre, Adrienna and Billie.
"I've got my girlfriend inside," Billie shrugged. He stopped at the door. There was a note from Adrienne.
Dear Billie,
I'm at the store. I'll be back in a few hours. Love you! Adrienne
Billie shrugged, and went in anyway. Tre and Adrienna followed.
"Hey, can we have a pool party?" Hilary asked. She was in Mike's arms, and happily nuzzling his neck.
"OK. Just keep it quiet." Billie answered. He disappeared and got into his swimsuit. After a few minutes, everyone was ready except Adrienna, who had been playing with Billie's dog.
"Oh, what am I gonna wear?" she frowned, looking at herself.
"You don't have to wear anything if you don't want to," Tre said wolfishly with his killer arch of an eyebrow.
"I think I'm gonna wear something," Adrienna smiled.
"Dammit." Tre sniffed.
"You could wear some of Adie's clothes," Billie suggested. Adrienna shrugged, and entered the bathroom. She came out minutes later wearing a black bikini with a cross on the lower half. She had a tattoo of a screaming skull on her stomach. It was pretty, but at the same time scary. Billie noticed all this in a few seconds, then turned away and led them to the backyard. Adrienna dived into the hot tub, and Tre did a cannonball into the pool.
"I'll be right back," Hilary grinned. She disappeared into the house and emerged with several bottles of beer. She passed them around, and soon they were all drunk. Adrienna started to dance to 'You Lied' by Green Day. Billie put his arm around her shoulders, and kissed her cheek.
"I love you, Adrienne," he mumbled.
"I'm Adrienna, but okay!" she said brightly. He started to make out with her, and at that moment, the real Adrienne came in on them.
"So this is your new girlfriend?" Billie asked.
