Every Rose Has A Thorn, chapter 3

Billie ripped the note off the door and went in. Adrienna followed, a devilish smile creeping across her face. She stopped smiling when he turned to look at her.

"Okay. Now, since my girlfriend's gone and you're here, what do you want to do?" Billie sighed, collapsing onto a couch. Adrienna shrugged and sat down next to him. She was a bit too close for his liking. He blinked, and then frowned.

"Not to be rude, but I don't want a repeat of last time, so back it up." he said softly. She looked at her feet, and stood.

"Sorry. Look, since she's not here, I'd better-" she began.

"So she's gone for a few hours? What's the big deal?" Billie shrugged, and stood.

Adrienna noticed that his eyeliner was smeared across his face. She walked over to him, and gently wiped it off. He just stared at her, his eyes blank. She really wasn't much shorter than he was, so he could easily look into her brown eyes. Adrienna smiled, and started to lean towards him, but he quickly pushed her away. She looked at her shoes, silently cursing at herself.

"Hey, I'd better get going." She started to walk quickly out the door, but Billie stopped her.

"Adrienna, from what I've seen of you, you're nice, funny, and pretty, but I don't want to be... I don't want to hurt Adrienne," he said slowly.

"I get it, but can we just be...friends?" she asked. He thought for a moment, then nodded. "Great. Look, I'll see you later. I've really got to go..." she started to leave again, but Billie pulled her back.

"Adrienna, stay here until Adie gets home. Please?"

"Okay."

*Two Hours Later*

"Hey, Billie. I'm home!" A voice called from the hall. Billie looked up from his position on the floor.

"Hi, Adie! There's someone here to say something." He stood and stretched. Adrienna emerged from the kitchen, her face blank.

"What is she doing here?" Adrienne demanded. She looked like she was going to kill Billie this time.

"I came to apologize for what Billie and I did. We were drunk, and he thought I was you. I hope you can forgive me," Adrienna said. Adie stopped, and her expression softened.

"I guess it's fine...unless you do it again. Drunk or not, he's still my boyfriend!" Adie exclaimed, smiling slightly. Adrienna laughed, and everything was fine for several weeks, at least until Adrienne left to go and see one of her friends in Washington.

*Before Adie Departed*

"Bye, Billie. Bye, Adrienna!" Adrienne called over her shoulder as she boarded the plane.

"Bye, 80!" Billie yelled after her. Adrienna just waved happily.

"Okay, Bill. What do you want to do?" Adrienna asked, turning her back on the
plane and getting into his car.

"Let's go to my place. I've got something to show you," Billie smiled, not knowing that those words would change everything.
