No One Puts Baby In The Corner, chapter 2

When I followed Joey out, I thought about how stupid I was being. I had just met the guy and here I was, crawling into a taxi with him. God, I really am the stupidest person I know. The taxi slid out of it's place by the curb and started to drive towards wherever it was that Joey lived. The whole time, it was mostly silent except for the slight sound of Madonna playing on the radio. Who the hell listens to Madonna? Anyways, it was completely awkward.

"Turn on this street," Joey said, pointing to Johnson Street. The taxi driver turned on the street and I saw a couple of white houses with nice yards along the road. The guy was obviously rich, one way or another. "The third house on the right." The taxi driver pulled into the driveway and Joey and I got out.

"Wow, big house," I said nonchalantly.

"Yep," he said, grabbing my suitcase out of the trunk. I took it from him and followed him up the porch steps after he paid the driver. He opened the house door and took off his shoes. "MOM, DAD, I'M HOME!!!!!"

"Joey, you don't have to-oh hello," a woman with brown and blonde curly tendrils down her back said, pausing in the middle of the living room. "Joey, you never told us-"

"Whoa, hey," a man with black messy hair and green eyes said, coming into the room. "Joey, when I said get a girlfriend, I didn't mean get one and bring her home."

"She's not my girlfriend," Joey said, rolling his eyes.

"I met him at the airport," I said, helping him out. "My dad forgot to pick me up and Joey offered to let me stay here. But I can find a hotel if it's too much trouble..."

"No, it's fine," his dad said, smiling, waving it away. "I'm Billie Joe, by the way." He stuck out his hand and I shook it, smiling nervously. "And this is my wife, Adrienne."

"Call me Adie," Adrienne said, smiling sweetly as we shook hands.

"I'm Jessie," I said, smiling back at her. I liked the two of them already and I'd known them for all of twenty seconds.

"You can stay in the guest room across from Joey's room," Billie Joe said. "Joey, show her where that is and then you two can come down and we'll have dinner." I nodded and followed Joey up a case of stairs and down a hallway with at least six doors down it. He opened the door across from a sticker filled doorway and turned on the light. The room was humongous.

"This...is where you're staying," he said. "That room over there is my room, so if you need anything just ask." He pointed to the sticker door and I nodded.

"Thanks again for letting me stay here," I said, putting my suitcase down.

"No prob," he said, waving it away. He acted a lot like his dad and he looked a lot like him too, but his eyes definitely came from his mom. "Come on, dinner should be done pretty soon." I took off my shoes and turned off the light, following him downstairs. And that's when I saw the man of my dreams.

"Oh hey, here she is now," Billie Joe said, looking over at me as I stepped closer. I stared at the man in front of me as his shocking blue orbs rested on my body and up to my own blue eyes. Wow...
