Lets just hope it lasts and doesn't end up in tears, chapter 3

Two days passed, and it was finally the long awaited moving in day for Tré and Milly. It was 12.30pm in the afternoon, and they were packing up the rest of their stuff in boxes ready to be put into the delivery truck.

Milly and Tre were in the lounge, which was now empty with nothing but the oak floorboards, creamy-white painted walls, stacked up brown boxes and a couch in front of a large wall window. It was a cold, but sunny day in California, and the sun was beaming through the window into the lounge, making the frost on the window glass seem like crystals. The sunshine shone through the leaves of the trees and the birds could be heard singing their melodic songs.

Milly finished taping up the final box for the removal lorry, and two well- built men came into the room to fetch the last couple of boxes and took them outside. Milly walked over to join Tre, who was sitting on the couch. As she sat down she let out a big sigh and rested her head on his shoulder, looking at the empty room around her.

"You ok, Milly?"

"Yeah," she replied, waiting a few moments before answering again. "It's just, as much as I am excited and looking forward to moving into our home, I'm also gonna miss this place."

"I know, it's gonna be weird for us both. I'm so used to living in a house with my Ex and kid. Now I'm moving in with my girlfriend. Feels good though."
Tre put his arms around Milly. "Don't worry, it's gonna be great - a fresh new start."

Milly looked up at Tre, and smiled.

"Right...uh, Miss. Waterfield?"

Milly looked over towards the doorway to find one of the removal guys stood with a clipboard in one hand and pen in the other.

"We are now ready to take the luggage over to the new house. Is this alright with you? And uh...Mr. Cool, also?"

Milly looked back up to Tre, and again to the removal guy. "Yeah, sure."

"Right, well can you please sign this, madam. Sign here, here, and...here."

Milly did so, before following him out to the front of the house and get her car out of the garage. Tre helped to move the couch that he and Milly had just been sitting on with the other removal guy and take it out to the lorry.

"We will be meeting you there, then, Miss Waterfield?"

"Erm, yes. We will be there in about 10 minutes. I'm just gonna have one last look around this place before we take off."

"Sure, madam."

Tre approached Milly, who was stood beside her car. He put his arm around her shoulders and leant back onto the bonnet of the car. Together, they both watched as the removal lorry drove off and disappeared down the street.

Tre rested his cheek against Milly's. "Come, on. Let's lock up."

Milly smiled and breathed in deeply to let out a sigh of content. They both walked into the home for what would be their last and final time. Together they went into each room and made sure the windows were locked and that nothing had been left behind accidently. Milly stood in the centre of the study and turned roud in a circle, slowly, taking in the last details of what used to be her favourite room of the house. Since she moved in five years ago so many of her now - famous and popular designs had been created in this very room.

"Milly, hun, it's time to go."

"Huh? Oh, yeah. Of course."

Milly walked back over to the doorway to put her arm around the back of Tre's waist as he did the same to her shouders. They closed the study room door, took one last glance down the hallway into the open door of Milly's bedroom, and made their way down the stairs and out the front door towards the car sat on the front drive. Tre got into the drivers seat and Milly into the passengers.

Ten minutes later they arrived at their new home. The gravel driveway lead towards the house and behind it to reveal a large sized garage, where the removal truck was already parked. There were a few steps leading up to the large oak wooden doors at the front of the comfortably large house.

Tre drove the black SUV up the drive and parked it outside the steps to the front door. The doors were open as the removal men were already transporting the furniture and brown boxes to inside the main foyer inside. Through the doors, Milly and Tre could see inside their new house; the black crystal Gothic chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, shining light onto the dark oak floorboards.

"Oh, Tre!" gasped Millie as they both got out of the car. Tre strided over to Millie, and scooped her up in his arms.

"AH! What are you doing?"

"I'm gonna take you into our new home!"

Tre wondered up the steps and into the house, before putting Milly down. They both stood in amazement as they looked around with wide open eyes.
"Home sweet home!" said Tre as he walked further into the centre of the hallway, Milly following. They both looked at each other, thinking exactly the same thing. In an instant they both started to run around at full speed, all around the house. When they came back down to the front door, Adrienne, Billie Joe, Mike and Ruby were all approaching up the steps.

"Hey, guys, come on in! Welcome to the 'Cool' residence," cooed Tre.
As they each walked through the doorway, they all had the same expressions on their faces.

"It's even better than the pictures in the brochure!" exclaimed Ruby, looking up at the ceiling with an open mouth.

"Come, lets me show you the garden! Its so cool..." Milly beckoned to Ruby and Adrienne, and the three of them linked arms and walked out towards a back door at the end of the hallway, leading outside to reveal the garden and the pool. Tre gave Billie and Mike a tour of the house, before meeting up the Milly, Adie and Ruby on the drive. They all started to take the boxes inside, which meant that the removal trucks could leave sooner.

Soon it was just the six of them, taking the boxes into the right rooms and unpacking them. The guys positioned the furniture whilst the girls put up décor and lights in the rooms upstairs.

"Erm, now what do I need to do...." Tre pondered, hands on hips, as he, Mike and Billie finished with the furniture. "Ah yes.."

Tre made his way up the stairs leaving the other two to spread out on a couch each in the living room, beers in hands.

"Milly!" called Tre as he made his way up the stairs.

"Yeah?" Milly shouted back, whilst positioning some pictures on a wall.

"I'm just gonna drive over to Claudia's to get my drum kit and shit. Some of my stuff and whatnot. Won't be long!"

"Sure, ok!"

Tre turned on his heels and returned back down the stairs and out onto the drive and got into the car. He drove off the drive and went on his way to Claudia's. Whilst he did, Milly went into the kitchen to help the others unpack the cooking utensils and put some food into the installed fridge. Elle and Chrissie arrived together in Elle's black BMW, and greeted Milly in the kitchen with a big hug from the both of them.

"Wow this place is neat."

"What can we do to help?"

"Well..." started Milly, "you could both start to put up the curtains. There in that box, over there. Start with the bedrooms first."

Tre arrived back half an hour later with his drum kit and some of his 'stuff'. Mike and Billie helped him to take the drum kit down into the basement and set it up.
An hour later and the time was 7:00pm. It was dark outside, with a clear sky, stars shining bright and the moon appearing big, illuminating anything it's light touched.

Before everyone went back to their homes they opened a bottle of champagne for a mini celebration.

Milly noticed Ruby and Mike looking seemingly comfortable together, talking quietly between themselves stood next to each other at the kitchen island.

"Hey, Tre." Milly made her way over and sat down next to him on the couch. "I don't think we're gonna need to get Ruby and Mike together after all 'cause they already look pretty keen on each other!"

Tre raised an eyebrow and grinned as he looked over towards one of his bestest friends, now so obviously flirting with the slim figured, chocolate coloured haired woman they called Ruby, stood in front of him paying attention and hanging onto his every word.

"Yes, indeed...." Tre and Milly shared a smile, before he put his arm around her shoulders as they sat back and sunk into the soft support of the couch. They both exhaled deeply, and Milly rested her head on Tre's chest as they both started to watch the wide screen television, enjoying the company of their friends around them with chat and laughter.
