A Panic! At The Disco Story, chapter 1

"Blaise? Blaise?" I looked up from the TV at the sound of my best friends voice coming from the kitchen. I blinked to make sure I wasn't just hearing things seeing as I didn't know she was even here. Finally realising where I was Jess came and stood in front of me, blocking my view of the screen.
"Do you mind?" I tried to look past her but still couldn't see what it was that Grace was trying to show Will. I sighed and picked up the bag of potato chips that was sitting next to couch and started shovelling them into my mouth. Jess came over and snatched them off me causing me to glare at her.
"Blaise! Hurry up and go and get ready!" I gave her a confused look in an attempt to let her know that I had no idea why it was that I was supposed to be getting ready. "You promised me that you'd help out at the show tonight." I closed my eyes trying to remember and then it clicked. Jess is sort of an events manager at a club and I sometimes help out with making sure the band has everything they need. I looked at her clothes and noticed how well she was dressed, maybe this band is something special. I glanced over at the clock on the wall
"Jess, it's only 3:30, don't go crazy."
"I can't help it you know what I'm like, besides one of my favourite bands is playing and that just makes me more nervous." I just smiled at rolled my eyes
"Who are they?"
"Panic! At the Disco."
"Eurgh."
"Don't 'eurgh' them, they're actually very good. Not all good bands are gothic." I shook my head, I don't really understand why everybody thinks I'm a goth. I don't think I am. I let myself roll off the couch and land on the floor with a soft thud. Leaning on the couch arm for support I stood up and began looking for my converse.
"Are you going to get changed?" Jess looked at me with a disapproving look, I looked down at myself not really seeing the big deal but just nodded my head and started up the stairs.

-Brendon's P.O.V-
"Are we there yet?" I just laughed as our driver sighed and replied no. As much fun as it was trying to get a reaction out of the guy I couldn't help but feel bad for him. He's somewhere in his late forties and me and the guys have spent the last 3 1/2 hours asking him the same question over and over simply because we had nothing better to do. Normally we weren't as bad but the amount of caffeine we had all consumed earlier this morning had had a bit of an affect on us.

After another half hour of the same stuff we pulled up outside of the venue.
"Wow..." Ryan muttered as he stepped out of the bus. I couldn't help but feel his word was appropriate. It was definately different to the others places we'd been playing at lately.
"Oh there you boys are!" We all turned as a woman probably about 21 or 22 ran up to us, trying to catch her breath. "We were expecting you a lot earlier."
"Sorry, ma'am but I had to stop the bus and threaten to take them all home." I smirked at looked over at our driver whose name I'd learnt was Earl.
"Well, I hope that you're not to exhausted but just in case we have some refreshments inside if you'd like to follow me, we'll have some people come outside to collect your instruments and set up for the show." The woman turned to lead us into the building but turned back to us, her cheeks a little bit pink "My name is Jessica by the way." I gave her a small smile as we all went to follow her inside.

Once we were all seated comfortably on couches, Jess started talking about what was going to happen tonight, I didn't really listen and focused more on the trays of food that were being brought in. Finally some stuff that didn't come out of a vending machine. I felt someone nudging me and I turned to face Ryan
"Yeah?" He rolled his eyes and motioned towards Jessica who was now fully blushing. Not having any idea what it was they had been talking I stood up "Uhhh...can you tell me where the bathroom is?" This caused the guys to burst out laughing. I listened to the directions and then left the room in an attempt to follow them.
"Wait so what are they called? Panic! Something?" I slowed down a bit hearing this and stood outside the door from where the voices were coming from
"Yeah, you seriously haven't heard of them? Wow, that's a first, they have that song that constantly played on every single radio station." I peered inside the room and saw a girl dressed in black sitting on a bench top swinging her legs and a guy who I assumed was a sound technician due to the words 'sound technician' being printed on his t-shirt.
"Meh, I've probably heard them just didn't know what they were called."
"Ha! I doubt it! The only stations you listen to play bands that no one's ever heard of."
"That's not fair, I listen to lots of bands that people have heard of like...Green Day, The Living End...H.I.M is getting more well known now as well..."
"Whatever you say Blaise." I hid behind the door as the guy started to walk out "Oh and by the way Blaise, I've never heard of The Living End."
"Oh yeah? Well they're huge where I come from AND they're gonna be huge here too, especially now that they've signed to 'Adeline,'" The guy chuckled.
"Whatever you say," he said before walking off, I looked back into the room as 'Blaise' jumped off the bench and started looking around the room
"I've heard of The Living End," She jumped startled.
"I'm sorry," I said stepping into the room "I didn't mean to eavesdrop or scare you..." She laughed
"It's fine, it might not have been if you didn't know who TLE were but you do so it's no biggie."
"So where ARE you from, you seem to have an accent," she smiled.
"All the way from Melbourne, Australia. I'm Blaise," she said walking over and extending her hand, which I shook
"Brendon," There was a small silence. "So you've never heard of Panic! At the Disco?" She shook her head, I was a little taken back, it's been a while since I've met someone who didn't know my name without me having to tell them first.
"I tend to avoid words like disco just because it makes me picture Saturday Night Fever and get all this techno crap playing in my head and that just makes me..." She shuddered and I smirked somewhat amused.
"They're not a bad band."
"Haha, well I'll just have to see. Uhh...did you need something?" I paused trying to remember what it was I had left the others for
"You know what? I've completely forgotten. But uhh...I should probably get back, we're s'pose to have a quick rehearsal, get used to the stage before the actual show." I watched as her mouth went wide and her face went a dark pink colour before laughing and walking back to the rest of the band.
