A Panic! At The Disco Story, chapter 3

I rolled over in my bed not wanting to go back to sleep but not ready to get up either. I reached out to change songs on the CD that I had left playing all night. Taking Back Sunday's 'Liar' started playing and I closed my eyes just listening to it. In the other room I could hear voices. I let out a long sigh annoyed that Jess had brought work home. Again. Deciding that I couldn't be bothered lying in bed any longer I pushed the covers off me and forced myself to stand up.

"Fuuuck!" I looked down at the pin that had fallen off my corkboard and caused me to yell out. Still not fully awake I left my room. Pulling out a jar of instant coffee from the cupboard I poured amouth a teaspoon into a mug and filled it with cold water. I mentally swore at myself when I tasted it and realised that the cold water was actually cold.

"Oh look who decided to grace us with their presence." I looked over at the kitchen table where Jess and the Panic! boys were seated.

"Isn't that gross?" The guy who I remembered as Spencer asked, gesturing to my coffee.

"Any form of coffee is good," Lie said.

"There's some already made..and hot over there." I looked over at where Jess was pointed before pouring the contents of my mug down the sink and refilling it.
"Why are you all up and here so early?" Ryan glanced down at his watch.

"It's like...10:30," I really wasn't ready to have gotten up.

"So Blaise, tell us," Brendon said "do you always walk around pants-less in front of people?" I looked down at myself. That's just fucking great. Here I was drinking cold coffee in nothing but a singlet top and Alice Cooper undies. I looked back over at Brendon who continued to smirk. Silently, I returned to my room. 'Twenty Twenty Surgery' was about half way through when I pushed the stop button swapping the album for End of Fashion's self titled one. Rumaging through the clothes that were scattered across my bedroom floor I found a pair of black jeans and threw them on. Going through more of the piles I pulled out a grey t-shirt that was also End of Fashion. For some reason I was really liking them today. Deciding that the Panic! boys weren't worth me fixing my eyeliner I returned to the kitchen only to find that everyone had moved onto the lounge room.

"So, did you enjoy the show last night?" Spencer asked looking up at me as I approached. I let out a small yawn.

"I actually didn't get to see you guys play." All heads turned to face me, I just yawned again and sat myself cross-legged on the carpet.

"Explain." I didn't really want to explain. Actually, I didn't know how to explain. There hadn't actually been a reason behind me missing their performance. Besides, it's not like it was a huge deal, they still had two more shows tomorrow and the next night.

"My friend also had a show that I promised to go to, it was her bands first performance infront of more than five people and I figured she needed the support. Besides, you guys have other shows here that I can catch." Brendon mumbled something. I didn't understand it. "What are you guys doing here anyway? Don't you have...other stuff to do and why aren't the Dresdens here? I like them."

"They had their own things to do." Jon answered "We're here because we got lost yesterday and didn't fancy spending a day off walking around in circles...again. Your friend Jess here offered to show us around." I rolled my eyes at Jess
"Aren't you just the good samaritan." She just grinned.

"So Blaise."

"Yes Ryan?"

"Will you also be acting as our tour guide?"

"Pfft!" I glared at Jess "Oh come on Blaise, you've lived here for a year and the only places you know are music venues and CD shops." I opened my mouth to protest but closed it when I realised it was true. Ryan just let out a small laugh
"At least you know the important places right?" I smiled at him.

"Yeah, I guess so. And no, I uhh..I should probably go to work, it's Saturday which means Jordan will be needing whatever help he can get."

"Awwww" He batted his eyes at me causing me to let out a small giggle "I was so excited about getting to know you."

"Aww poor Ry Ry..can I call you that?" He nodded "I'm sure Jess can bring you guys to the club and I'll give you a free lunch and I'll tell you my full name and everything. How's that sound?"

"That sounds lovely, I can't wait."

"Blaise can I talk to you in the kitchen."

"'Kay" I stood up as Jess left the room, I looked back at the guys "I'm in trouble."

"I'm not hitting on any of them in case you're about to abuse me for it." She just rolled her eyes and tapped her foot impatiently.

"Do you have to be so rude to them? They're trying to be all nice and friendly and you're just blowing them off! I mean, couldn't you at least have humoured them about seeing them play?"

"And if they had asked me about my favourite part?"

"Oh come on you have to know at least one of their songs!"

"I don't but enough with lecture. Why don't you just tell me which one you've fallen in love with." The foot tapping stopped.

"What makes you think that I'm in love with them?!" I sighed.

"One. You've never cared about my attitude towards a band. Do I have to remind of the obscenities Simple Plan had to deal with? Two. You haven't brought a band home since you thought Sonny Moore was older."

"Okay, one. Simple Plan is the exception. No one likes them. This time I have a job to care about, this is their first time headlining and they don't need people being unsupportive, my job could be jeopardised if you keep ignoring them-"
"How?"

"Two. Sonny Moore is an honest mistake." I started singing to myself in my head just knowing that this was going to take a while.

-Brendon's POV-

"In love much?"

"What?"

"Aww I was so excited about getting to know you." I pretended to toss my hair as Ryan just shook his head.

"Brendon's just upset that he's not getting a free lunch isn't he." I grabbed a cushion off the seat I was sitting on at threw it at him.

"Ryan's the only one getting lunch?" We all laughed at Jon's priceless expression. Him and food, if he and Cassie weren't together he definately would've married a burger by now. Vegetarian of course.

"Loser Jon, I'm almost sure we're all getting something."

"Yeah, but it looks like Ryan will be getting a little more than the rest of us." Spencer smirked. I let out another laugh.

"I'm not getting anything, I was just being nice...I mean...Jess...it's great that she's so enthusiastic but if I have to hear her go on about all this stuff about us I'm going to shoot myself in the head. I was trying to save us." I smirked but agreed. Jess was overly full of energy. Blaise was...interesting...he random questions were somewhat entertaining and she had no idea who we were..well now she did but she didn't care. It was refreshing. Sure, we've only just developed a following but it's been crazy. I'm definately getting sick of her glares though.

-Blaise POV...again-

"Hey Jordan?"

"Yeah?"

"Have you ever heard of a band called 'Panic! At The Disco'?"

"Mhmm."

"Do you like them?"

"Yeah, they're a different sound. It's good. We've played their album here before why are you asking me?"

"We have their album?"

"That's what I said, it's their song that you love so much." My jaw dropped
"Not the 'la la la la la' one?"

"The exact one. And for future reference it's called 'Build God, Then We'll Talk.'"

"Wow..how annoying. Wanna meet 'em?" Jordan paused and before taking down another chair.

"How?"

"Well....I told them that they could swing by here and we'd give them lunch and also 'cause Jess has requested my services backstage for their shows so..I can get you tickets for tomorrow and if you like them that much the day after as well."
"Well the show part sounds good but what exactly do you plan on feeding them? We don't open until 8 tonight and the chef isn't in yet." This time I was the one who paused. I had forgotten.

"Well...we can always order." I went over to Jordan and helped him take down more of the chairs, wiping the tables as we went. "And for fuck's sake can we get that band to stop rehearsing?!" For the hour and a half that I've been here there's been a band who somehow won a vote on the internet to play here tonight. Problem was, they sucked. They sounded like a band who was confused about what genre they wanted to belong to and couldn't decide whether they wanted to be influenced by Eminem or Cradle of Filth. It was one of the most disturbing performances I had ever witnessed. This coming from a person who has seen Marilyn Manson 14 times. In a row.

"I wish. I swear it's the last time I let the public choose a winner." After about another 30 seconds I decided I couldn't take it anymore.

"Guys! Please just stop playing! Go away and try and get lessons before coming back tonight otherwise I'm going to cut all your guitar strings!" They stopped playing. "Oh thank Billie Joe." Jordan just chuckled.

As the dodgy band was leaving, Jess and the guys strolled in.

"Watch out for the bitch." Dodgy, bass player said as he closed the door behind him.

"I'll take it you've been being your honest self again." Jess went and sat on one of the soft giant couches, gesturing to the guys to do the same. They did.

"They were just really really bad."

"Well I hope that we don't disappoint you when you come see us tomorrow," Brendon said looking up at me.

"Doubt it." I sat down next to him "As it turns out I know one of your songs. AND I like it." I smiled matter-of-factly.

"Oh yeah?" He placed his arms my shoulders.

"What song would that be?" I closed my eyes annoyed at having forgotten the title.

"Jordan!"

"What?" Came a reply from outside.

"What's the song I like?"

"The 'la la la la la' one?"

"Yeah!"

"'Build God, Then We'll Talk!'"
"Thank you!" I looked back at Brendon.

"'Build God, Then We'll Talk,'" He laughed "Wow, you have a nice laugh. And a really pretty smile." Wow, there goes my head talking again.

"Thank you," He laughed again before his face turned serious. "But you know, that was my favourite song first."
