Billie's Secret, chapter 12
April 8th 1992
*Katie's P.O.V.*
I'm due today and I'm really scared. I have a feeling that I'm gonna have the baby today.
Sarah and Richard are back together. She moved back in with him and sold her apartment. Sarah said if he cheats on her again, she's breaking up with him.
I know that he really loves her and that he didn't mean to hurt her but he still shouldn't have cheated on her.
We painted to baby's room. It's a light pink and on the biggest wall we're going to stencil her name. We were going to name her Gracie Isabelle but I changed my mind again. We have everything ready for when she's born.
Mike likes to bring the overnight bag with us everywhere we go. It's always in the backseat of the car.
Tré, Lisea, Billie and Adie are at our house. We are all sitting in the living room and Mike is making lunch.
"I'm scared; because I have a feeling that I'm gonna have the baby today," I said.
"Katie... you'll be OK, it'll all be worth it when you're holding the baby in your arms and you know that she is a symbol of you and Mike's love for each other," Tré said.
We were all amazed by what he had just said. We had never heard Tré say something like that before. Even as kids, Tré was always saying something stupid or perverted.
"What?" Tré asked.
"That was... I don't even know how to explain it," I said and gave my brother a hug.
"OK... " Tré said and looked at me with a weird look on his face.
"Tré... I think that's the first time I hear you say something like that," I said.
"Ya... all you ever say are things that are stupid or perverted," Billie said.
"Well... what I said is true," Tré said.
"Oww... " I said.
"What's wrong?" Lisea asked.
"I just got this pain in my lower stomach... it didn't hurt that much though; I'm OK," I said.
"Lunch is ready," Mike said and brought lunch into the living room.
He sat down beside me and kissed me.
"But if you get a lot of pains we have to call the doctor cause you might be going into labor," Mike said.
"That's what I'm scared of... the labor," I said.
"You'll be OK, remember they give you drugs to take the pain away," Mike said and kissed me.
Everyone laughed.

*Sarah's P.O.V.*
Me and Richard are babysitting Johnny today. He's a good kid but he's got a lot of energy. Richard says that he's bad when I'm not around though.
I was making lunch in the kitchen and Richard was watching TV in the living room with Johnny.
All of a sudden I heard Richard start coughing.
I went to bring them their lunch.
"Are you OK?" I asked.
"I don't know... I think I swallowed a marble," Richard said.
"How the he... , how could you have swallowed a marble?" I asked watching my language because Johnny was in the room.
"Johnny was eating some candy and he was playing with marbles and somehow I think he gave me a marble instead of a candy and I swallowed it," Richard said.
I laughed.
"Hey! It's not funny," He said.
"You're such a dumb ass," I said.
"A sexy dumb ass," Richard said and kissed my cheek.
"Well... we might as well go to emergency," I said.
I grabbed my purse and we got in the car.

*Katie's P.O.V.*
We were all watching a movie in the living room. I was sitting beside Mike on the couch. He had his arm around me and I had my head resting on his shoulder.
I felt a pain in my lower stomach. It hurt more than the last time. I moved to try and get comfortable but no matter what position I was in, I couldn't get comfortable.
Then I felt another pain. It hurt a lot more this time.
"Oww... " I said and held my stomach.
Mike jumped.
"Are you OK?" He asked.
"I don't know... I can't seem to get comfortable, and I keep getting these pains," I said.
"I'm gonna call the doctor; I'll tell him that we're gonna go to the hospital," Mike said and kissed me.
"OK," I said.
"Tré, help her get in the car and someone grab the overnight bag," Mike said and threw Tré the keys to the car.
I was starting to panic. Calm down, Katie, everything is going to be OK.
It's a good thing our apartment only has 2 floors.
Tré unlocked the car door and helped me in.
"Hey... you'll be OK. Don't worry," Tré said and hugged me.
"Thanks, Tré," I said.
Mike came running out of the apartment building.
"We'll meet you guys there," Adie said.
"OK," Mike said.
Lisea and Tré got in the back of the car.
When we got to the hospital, Billie and Adie were already there. We followed the doctor to my room.
The doctor gave me a gown to change into and they hooked me up to a couple of machines.
"We're going to hook you up to some machines so we can monitor your contractions," The doctor said.
"OK," I said.
Mike was sitting beside me, holding my hand.
"I can't believe that today is finally here," He said and kissed me.
"Me neither; I'm scared but I'm also happy," I said.
"We have something for the baby but we'll give it to you guys later," Adie said.
"OK," I said.
"I'm gonna go for a walk. Tré, do you want to come with me?" Billie asked.
"Sure," Tré said.

*Tré's P.O.V.*
I can tell that this is a hard time for Billie.
"Hey, you OK?" I asked when we left the room.
He sighed.
"Ya... I'm OK," He said.
I saw Richard, Sarah and Johnny.
"Hey," We said.
"Hey, why are you guys here?" Sarah asked.
"You didn't get our message?" I asked.
"No," Sarah said.
"Katie went into labor," I said.
"Oh my God! What room is she in?" Sarah asked.
"235," I said.
"Why are you guys here, then?" Billie asked.
"Richard swallowed a marble," Sarah said.
"How the hell did he do that?" Billie asked.
"Long story... " Richard said.
"OK... I don't think I wanna know," I said.
"Well... I have to get X-rays done and then we'll go see Katie," Richard said.
"OK, bye," We said.
We walked back to Katie's room.
"Guess who we saw?" I said.
"Who?" Katie asked.
"Sarah, Richard and Johnny; I bet you'll never be able to guess why they were here and its not cause of you... they were here when we left a message at their place," I said.
"I don't know... why were they here?" Katie asked.
"Richard swallowed a marble," Billie said.
Everyone started laughing.
"That's such a Richard moment," Adie said.
"Ya," Lisea said.
"Oww... stupid contractions," Katie said and squeezed Mike's hand.
"Oh God... she's barely squeezing my hand and it hurts. I don't know if my hand will be able to survive when she's having the baby," Mike said and laughed.
I laughed.
"Hey... you'll be going through the same thing eventually, so if I were you, I wouldn't laugh," Mike said.
"True... " I said and stopped laughing.

It was around 11:30 PM and we were all in the waiting room. They had brought Katie into the delivery room about 15 minutes ago.
I was sitting in between Lisea and Billie on the couch. I could tell that Lisea was getting tired but she wanted to be awake to see her little niece so she wouldn't let me let her fall asleep.
Billie's scared; I know he is. Even though the expression on his face doesn't show that he's scared. I know him too well. And if I was in his situation I would feel the same way.
At 11:38, Mike came out into the waiting room with a huge smile on his face.
"Well Tré... you have a little niece," Mike said.
"Congratulations, dude," I said and gave him a hug.
"Congratulations," Everyone said.
"Can we go see her?" Adie asked.
"Yep," Mike said.

*Billie's P.O.V.*
I got off the couch and grabbed Adie's hand. Tré, Lisea, Sarah, and Richard followed Mike. Richard's parents had come to pick up Johnny after they were done work.
This moment is probably the hardest moment that I will have to face in my life.
I opened the door and saw Katie holding my daughter in her arms. She was wrapped up in a blanket and had a little pink hat on so I couldn't see her face that well.
I smiled... my little girl. Then I remembered that she's Mike's little girl now.
"Katie, she's beautiful," Adie said.
Tré looked at me and gave me a sympathetic smile.
"Well... since we're picking Tré and Lisea to be her Godparents, do you want to hold her first?" Katie asked.
"Sure," I said.
Mike took the baby out of Katie's arms and put her in my arms.
"Have you decided on a name yet?" Adie asked.
"Well... we were going to name her Gracie Isabelle, but that name doesn't suit her," Katie said.
"How do you like the name Ellie Lynn?" Mike asked.
"I love it; and she looks like an Ellie Lynn," Katie said.
"OK, so her name is going to be Ellie Lynn Pritchard," Mike said.
"Yep," Katie said.
I looked down at my daughter. She opened her eyes and yawned. She had bright green eyes, just like mine.
"She has green eyes," I said.
"Cool... so that means that one of my parents had green eyes because I know Katie's parents both have blue eyes," Mike said.
"Ya," I said.
"Hi Ellie," I said.
"Do you wanna hold her now?" I asked Adie.
"OK," She said.

"Hi Ellie. We have something for you," Adie said.
Billie went and got a pink blanket that had princess written on it and gave it to me.
"Aww... it's so cute. Thanks guys," I said.
Tré, Lisea, Sarah, and Richard all took turns holding Ellie.
"Well... we should be going now... it's getting late. We'll come see you tomorrow," Lisea said.
"Ya... we should get going too," Sarah said.
"I'll go back with Lisea and Tré to get the car and then I'll drive back to come pick you up," Adie said.
"OK," Billie said.
Everyone had left and it was just Billie, Mike and I.
"Billie... I'm gonna put your name on her birth certificate," I said.
"You're not going to put Mike's?" Billie asked.
"No... cause you're her birth father," I said.
Billie smiled.
"Thanks," he said.
"Well... Adie should be here by now. I'll see you guys tomorrow," Billie said.
"Bye," we said.
"Bye Ellie," Billie said.
I took her little hand and waved.
He smiled.
