Will Little Armstrong The Second Pull Through?, chapter 2
The doctors all rushed over and begin to shake Billie's son. They started to panic themselves when he didn't come round. Billie shouted for them to stop because he wanted to do something.
The doctor told him that they have no time to stop but you can still say what you want to.
Billie shouted, "If my son is going to die can I at least name him?"
The doctors nodded yes and could Billie write it down.
I handed Billie a pen and he wrote: "Jakob Danger Armstrong" on a piece of paper I miraculously produced from my pocket.
Just then we saw an irregular but prominent line on the monitor. Billie Joe's face split into a grin as he rushed over to Jakob's incubator.
"Welcome to the world Jakob Danger. In case you don't know I'm your daddy and I will love you very much."
All the doctors went "awww" and smiled.
Billie turned round to me, "Sarah, can you go and see if Adie is awake and tell her about Jakob here?"
"Yeah sure," I replied.
Adrienne's room was just 3 doors down from the Special Baby Care Unit.
I knocked softly and went in. Adie was awake and smiled when I came in. She looked still tire and pale so I thought that I mustn't talk much.
"How are you?" I asked. A bit of stupid question but anyway.
"Well I could be better 'cause my stomach hurts like hell and my head feels as if it's in two; but apart from that I'm fine."
I smiled.
"How's my little baby?" she enquired.
"Billie? Oh yeah he just needs his dummy and he'll be ok."
Adie laughed then said, "I meant the actual baby who is supposed to act like one."
"He's doing ok. We had a panic 'cause he stopped breathing for about a minute then he started again and Billie named him Jakob Danger. Is that cool with you?"
"Yeah, we agreed before we got to 4 months!" Adie smiled.
One month later
Everyday we visited Jakob and after 4 days Adrienne was able to come home so Billie, Joey, Adie and I all went in to see Jakob and we always stayed for about 3 or 4 hours. Billie asked if I would like to move in with them. I said yes but only if you let me do my own washing and cleaning and cooking. Billie only let me do the washing part abut I still said I would cook for them all once a week. Billie said that would be brilliant and I can help with Jakob too if I would like. Naturally I said yes. Jakob would be coming home in 2 months time so we all had time to prepare the house and everything Jakob needed.
