*My POV*

I walked in and dropped my jaw. My parents were both in the room making out...but they're divorced. They can't do that. I saw beer bottles in their hands. That explains the yelling. They stopped what they were doing and looked at me.

"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN BITCH?!" my mom yelled.

"Out, with someone," I replied.

She looked at Tré.

"YOU LITTLE SLUT! GET IN THE FUCKING HOUSE!"

She started to pull me away from Tré.

"I'm sorry Tré, I'll see you tomorrow!" I yelled.

My mom slammed the door in Tré's face and threw me in my room. She mumbled something about me being a tramp and then slammed my door and left me alone. I sat in my room and started to play my brother's old bass. I know NO ONE that can play the bass. My brother was the one that taught me. I walked over to my nightstand and stared at a picture of him. It was from May of two years ago. My brother was 16. I was 12. He committed suicide the next day. I allowed a few tears to escape my eyes. I wiped them and went back to playing my bass.

*Next Day*

*Tré's POV*

I waited around for Kia after school. I hadn't seen her all day. I wasn't sure if she was even here. After long, I decided to start the signs by myself. I just concluded that she wasn't here. I decided to leave at 5. I wanted to see what was wrong with her. She couldn't have been sick. I decided not to knock on one of the doors, noticing her mom might have been home. I snuck around the back and looked for Kia's bedroom. I heard music and singing coming from a room. I was positive it was Kia's. I looked through the window leading into the kitchen, able to see Kia's mom was home. She was sitting on the couch, watching TV with a beer in her hand. I found a rock on the ground and threw it at Kia's window. She didn't answer. I was ready to throw her grill at the window. She opened the window. I thought she had finally heard me when she just left the window. I took off my shoe and chucked it into the window.

"OW!" I heard her scream.

She came to the window.

"Tré!" she cried.

"Babe, let me in," I said.

"How? My mom is downstairs."

"Hmm..."

I looked over into the yard next door with the fence dividing the yards and back up at Kia's house.

"I know how," I said.

Kia watched me as I climbed up the fence to her window. She helped me get in the window. When I got in, I kissed her nose.

"How are you today?" I asked her.

"What do you mean?" she asked back.

"How are things with your mom?"

"Oh, nothing happened yesterday, or today, yet..." she said trailing off.

I smiled.

"Good. No one's allowed to hurt you in front of me, so if something were to happen today, don't worry because I'll be there."

Kia looked into my eyes and smiled.

I looked down from her gaze.

"Let's go," I said.

"What? Where?" She asked.

"C'mon! Just let's go!" I said leading her to the window.

She walked to the window and started to climb out with me right after her. I looked at her outfit when we got down. Jeans, black tank top under a sweatshirt with black Chuck's. She never wears stuff like this...what got into her?
