Their Sweet Chemical Romance, chapter 3

Frank awoke the next morning at 9:43am. He got up and went into the kitchen. He made coffee and had a cigarette. After he finished drinking his coffee, he went to the guest room to see if Nicky was awake yet. She was still asleep. He opened the door a little bit more. She looked so peaceful and serene...beautiful. All of a sudden she started to wake up.
"Shit, Frank! Don't look at me, I look horrible! I just woke up!" Nicky said as she pulled the blankets over her head.
"Okay, sorry." Frank smiled and stifled a laugh and then closed the door "Oh, I made coffee if you want some"
"Okay, yeah sure. I need to get ready first." Nicky got up and went into the bathroom across the hall with her purse in her hand.
She fixed her makeup and hair and made herself look just as she had the night before. She went into the kitchen where Frank was seated at the kitchen table and talking on the phone to someone.
"Gerard, I gotta go. I'll call you later," Frank said as he looked up at Nicky who was standing across the table. He hung up the phone. "Good morning."
"Good morning," Nicky replied. She sat down and looked at him "I think I better get going now. My cousin and gonna be all worried about me and shit."
"Okay, I'll drive you there," Frank said as he got up and put the phone on the charger. His house was quite clean for a guy. "Let's go."
Nicky walked out the front door as Frank held it open for her. She got into his black Jetta and he turned on the music. Death At The Chapel by The Horrors was playing.
"Oh! I love this song!" Nicky said as she turned the sound and the bass way up. She leaned over and kissed Frank on the cheek "Thanks for letting me spend the night."
He smiled "Anytime" he pulled up into the driveway of Nicky's cousin Crystal's house. It actually wasn't that far from Frank's home.
He walked her to the door. "Thanks again," Nicky said as she hugged him.
"Well, if you ever wanna hang out of anything give me a call," he said as he gave her his number.
She walked inside and closed the door. The house seemed empty. Was Crystal even home? She went into the kitchen. Crystal wasn't there.
"Crystal?" Nicky called from the bottom of the stairs "I'm home. Where are you?"
"I'm in the shower!" Crystal yelled back. She got out of the shower and wrapped a towel around herself. Her dyed honey blonde hair was growing out and her dark brown roots were showing. She went into her bedroom and put on a pair of sweatpants and a black Bring Me The Horizon t-shirt. She blow dried her hair and then ran downstairs to greet Nicky.
"Hey! Where were you last night?" Crystal said as she hugged Nicky. She smelt good...like vanilla.
"I was at Frank Iero's house" Nicky replied "I know, I know. Hard to believe right? It is for me too."
"Okay then.." Crystal raising her eyebrow "I have no idea who that is so I'm just gonna go upstairs on the computer now..." Crystal wasn't into mainstream bands. Just indie and underground music.
Nicky sat in the living room and watched MTV. A marathon of The Hills was on. Fuck yes! She sat there in her cousin's living room eating mint chocolate chip ice cream.
All of a sudden her cell phone rang. She jumped off the couch and dug through her purse on the counter to get her pink RAZR cell phone.
She flipped it open "Hello?" she said.
"Hey Nicky" it was Nicky's best friend, Taisha. "How's New Jersey?"
"Oh! Taisha! Jersey's great!" the excitement in Nicky's voice grew. "How are you?"
"Very good!" Taisha squealed "I've got great news!"
"Really?" Nicky turned down the TV. "What is it?"
"Well, I've been doing really good working at MAC and I'm coming to New Jersey for makeup school!" Taisha's voice grew louder.
"Really?! That's great!" Nicky said "When are you coming?"
It is great, I've worked so fucking hard for this." Taisha said "My flight leaves tomorrow at noon, so I should be there around six"
"Cool." Nicky sat down at the kitchen table "You should come stay with me and Crystal!"
"Really? Can I?" Taisha asked "I don't really have the money to get a hotel..."
"Ya, it's totally fine!" Nicky replied eagerly. "I have something amazing to tell you when you get here. Call me when you're at the airport, we'll come pick you up!"
"Cool. I'll see you tomorrow!" Taisha said and then hung up.
Nicky was so exited to see her best friend again. She sat down and began to watch The Hills again. At about 8:00pm, she went to her bedroom and went to sleep for the night, looking forward to a big day tomorrow.
