Tre and Kira, chapter 2

My brother is such a dick sometimes. He thinks me and Billie Joe have something with each other. We don't; he's just my good friend. He helps me deal with Tre, and was there for me when Madi left for New Jersey. Now sure, he happened to lay his hand on my butt, and sure, I didn't make him move it, but that doesn't mean anything, now does it? I talked to everyone on AIM during history. My poor brother was in his worst subject; chemistry. If it didn't involve a bong, ole' Tre was stuck. Billie was minorly better. After a while, the only conversation that seemed to go anywhere was mine and Billie Joe's.
"So what are you gonna do after school, K?"
"Take the bus home, since Tre's gotta stay for history make up work, and stoof like that. You?"
"Can I come over? Like ride the bus home with you?"
"Sure. Mom and dad are out of town this weekend, I was thinking about asking you guys anyways."
"You?"
"Yeah well. Tre wouldn't ask, and I like having you guys around. Me and you can make our famous brunch."
"Brownies, pizza..."
"And those eggs with the salsa in them."
"Huevos rancheros. You taught me that, how come you can't remember?"
" 'cause I'm learnin' about Paul Revere. So I'll meet you at the bus after school then, kay?"
"Gotcha. Hey, gotta jet, quiz. I'll prolly be on soon though."
"Key dokey." And I signed off with him. Next thing I know, Mr. Austin is babbling on about how Paul Revere did this and that, and something about a quiz we have, and all this other junk. I looked like I was taking notes, until a message from Madi popped up.
"I'd new u'd b in skool, so I didn't call." Texting me, was my friend since we were seven. But this conversation drones on, I'm sure you don't wanna hear it....

I signed off with her, and put my comp in my bag. Damn, I didn't wanna do that. She was being so sweet, and I was gonna tell her. Damn Mr. Bruce. Had to talk about ionic bonds NOW! I looked over at Tre, grumbling as he wrote his name down on the paper we were being handed. I heard good ole' Mr. B saying his usual...
"You may look up for inspiration, down in desperation..."
"But do not look to the side for information..." I muttered. I didn't know he heard me. How was I supposed to know he was right behind me?
"Good job, exactly right Bubba." He called all the guys 'Bubba', damn Texas hick. Wait, can't talk like that. I knew people in Texas. I mean, my mom's side of the family are rednecks. Anyways. Back to what I was thinking. I was gonna tell her. I know she doesn't know, but damn, she needs to. I think about her a lot. I remember a lot the last time I spent the night at her house. The band was just there, and her dad asked us to stay, since Tre had been in the dumps after Michelle dumped him *poor thing* and Kira was upset. Seems Madi had just left that night before, and she was pretty off about it. But ta-da! Leave it to Billie Joe to get her laughing and talking again. We made our famous brunch because we were stoned off our asses after a night of partying on the backporch. Their parents are gone so often with their jobs, that we get to hang there a lot. But my favorite memory was late that night, when Tales From the Crypt came on, and Mike had the chair, and Tre was on the floor. She had taken the couch, and I sat with her. She got scared, and buried her face in my chest. I smiled, patting her head, kissed her forehead, told her it's okay to be scared of monsters. Of course, she punched me, seeing I was talking to her like a little kid. But, she stayed there, letting me put my arm around her. I remember because her hair smelled really cool, like peppermint. I woke up the next morning, before anyone else, and she was cuddled on me. I didn't wanna move, God, I never ever wanted to move; but Tre would have killed me. So I wrapped her in my jacket, and got up. She got up not soon after, and I swear, I almost kissed the girl. Maybe on the bus this afternoon... stupid covalent bonds!

I hate this. Sitting in speech, all by myself. Oh well, it's just a semester class. I wish I could get in history with Kira. I don't know why, but I find myself eerily attracted to her. I mean, I'm not usually attracted to the tomboy type, but something about her, just drives me up the wall, in a good way of course. But, I'm still attatched with Lindsey. I think it's just the amount of time I've been spending with her, I think. Oh well, I'll prolly be going over there this weekend, I'll set myself straight. Yeah, I know, short and sweet, but I gotta do my classwork, so shoo!
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~Oh finally history is over! It's off to spanish, which makes me feel only minutely better. Spanish 3 with Ms. Clark was never really a piece of cake. I usually spent my time talking to Billie Joe though, and today, I could talk to Madi. All my friends had to ditch, and go to French, the bastards. But ever since I spent that time in Texas, and in Lower California, I think I need more Spanish. Anyways, hey, look, there's Mike! I forgot (I always do) that he's in my class.
"Hey you."
"Hey yourself. How was history?"
"Midnight ride of Paul Revere. You?"
"Give a speech on how to make a PB and J."
"You wouldn't happen to have any extra, now wouldya?"
"No.. I..."
"Hola mis estudiantes!"
"Hola senora Clark." Urg. She's so annoying. So Mike and I got our computers out, talking on AIM, helping each other with the answers, and then Billie Joe popped back up. There we were having a chat about nothing at all, just movies to rent possibly tonight. But I had lunch, so I put my away message up, and Mike and I went down to the cafeteria.
"He likes you, Kira."
"Who? Greg?" I see Greg Harris coming along the way.
"How's the weather down there, Kira?" He's like 9 feet tall. But he was like a big brother to me anyways, so I didn't make a big deal of it. I stomped on his foot, and then went back to Mike.
"No, not Greg, Billie Joe."
"Maybe."
"Maybe? I saw your conversations. You two are flirting like crazy."
"Or maybe you're reading into it Mike Dirnt." He shrugged, and we went on. I got my usual, chicken nuggets, while he went and got a salad.
"Damn you vegetarians."
"Damn you carnivores. Now eat!" He laughed as I bent his fork back with my own. I ate all six of the wanna be cluckers without breaking a sweat, while watching him pull the ham out of his salad.
"I wonder if that's 'ham; water added.' We learned about that in history."
"In history?"
"We got a little off topic."
"Obviously. Hey, there's loverboy... Hey Billie Joe!" I blushed real quick, but hey, who's to know? *if you tell him, I will SOOO get you!* So off to another side....
**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~
It's the end of the day, and you guys are still wanting to know? Well, I guess this is the part, huh? She's late, which isn't... wait, there she is.
"Hey you."
"Hey, come on, the back seat is still empty!" She loved the backseat. So we're racing back there, and we get there, me sitting down first.
"Hey! I wanted window!"
"Climb over then." As she's climbing over, the bus starts moving, and she ends up in my lap! Please don't turn around and see me blushing, please don't turn...
"Sheesh! Mr. Marris drives like a maniac! So listen, when we get home, it's my turn to cook..."
'Kira, I like you... a lot.' Sounds easy enough to say, right? THEN WHY CAN'T I?
"You okay, Billie Joe?" She pats my head, runs her fingers through my hair.
"Yeah, just a bad day. Hey, you look tired."
"Am kinda."
"Come 'ere then." And I wrapped my arm around her, and she rested on me. I'm so cool. Can't tell the girl I'm head over heels for her, but I can't let her sleep on me!? I kiss the top of her head, and sing parts of the new song I was working on. Talking about being in the minority. Maybe I'll have the courage to tell her when I get home...
*************************~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'll just have to tell Kira that I think I'm falling for her over Lindsey. We just won't tell Linds for now. I'll talk to Billie Joe about it.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
My stupid sister can't even wait for an hour and a half for me to do something after school! What a dweeb! Oh well, she took Billie Joe... Oh gosh. How am I... KIRA!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~******************
Life is good. Billie Joe's kinda comfy.
