Guardian angel (Sequel to Ghost Girl), chapter 1

The gunshot rang out throughout the stadium. Fans were screaming and onstage, Billie Joe collapsed. Tre ran off, screaming like a little girl, and Mike ran over to help Billie Joe. Another shot was fired, but it never made contact.

A slim figure materialized in front of Billie Joe and spread it's wings, two, slender, black wings were spread and the bullet was absorbed. Death silence spread throughout the whole arena as the angel flickered and died and Billie Joe went still.

***

"Look at this." Tre spread the paper on the bed.

Billie Joe struggled up. After he'd passed out he'd been rushed to hospital where he'd been in intensive care for the last twelve hours, and he'd survived. If it hadn't been for the apparition, he'd have died.

Tre pointed at the article, Billie Joe's eyes flicked over the writing. "Nice picture." He said weakly.

"Yeah," Mike agreed nodding.

A nice picture of Mike kneeling by Billie's fallen body with a tall, female, angelic figure stood, back towards the camera, with her black wings spread in a protective stance.

"It's a load of crap," Billie Joe declared. Mike nodded.

"It's all about whether angels exist, and does this prove anything. See. Those bastards are now saying it was all a set up by freaks that think they're our angels," Tre pointed at a paragraph.

One of the nurses walked in. "Um, Mr. Armstrong, you've got a visitor. She says she knows you."

A tall, skinny girl walked in, her dark hair reached her waist, her black jeans and t-shirt were almost hidden beneath a massive raincoat, but she was still very distinctive...

"Hannah!"

***

"Thank fuck she's gone!" Said Hannah, sitting on one of the chairs and doing a cruel impression of the nurse checking if Billie Joe was okay, whether or not he knew Hannah, how he knew Hannah. So they'd made a load of things up.

"Are you still undead?" Asked Tre, poking Hannah. "You feel real enough."

"Long story short. I'm undead, but guardian angels have solid bodies."

Tre, Billie Joe and Mike just stared stupidly. "So, you're, Green Day's angel?" Mike asked weakly.

"No, Billie Joe's, Guardian angel, there is a difference."

"Wait, hold on. How come Billie gets a guardian angel, and we don't?" Tre asked.

Hannah didn't answer; instead she merely said, "Chuck us the paper," Billie Joe passed her the paper.

"Good picture." She commented.

"Was that you, by any chance?" Mike asked. Hannah nodded and slipped off her raincoat.

Once they were free of the massive raincoat, Hannah stretched her wings out, the folded them neatly behind her shoulders. "What?" She asked innocently, in reply to Tre's questioning stare.

"They're big." Tre said, still staring at her wings. Hannah spread them again and looked at them.

"Only 1.5 meters."

***

"Great, so I get stuck with you?" Billie Joe asked, looking at the angel spreading her wings into a comfortable position on his couch. Hannah nodded. "So, what exactly do you do?"

"I help," Said Hannah, shifting a wing slightly.

"With what?"

"Saving your life."

"Ummm...look, you couldn't save my life and clean out the garage, Adie is going to kill me when she finds out I haven't cleaned it."

"Where is Adie, by the way?" Hannah sat up, folding her wings neatly behind her shoulders.

"At a friends, in England."

"So, are you like a servant?" Billie Joe asked, trying to make conversation.

"No, you have to pay a servant, I'm more like a slave, only with a bit more freedom. If you treat me badly, I get my own back."
Billie Joe nodded. "I see... Go clean the garage."
