First installment of the "Jazz series", chapter 1
He sat there in class paying no attention what so ever to Mrs. Harley's boring maths lesson. He was much more interested in Jazz, the new girl. She was tall, brown haired, had an interest in Green Day, and had a face like a female angel. He sat bemusud on how god could have carved such beauty.
"How could I have not realized before??!!" he thought. "She's so happy, and beatifull, and everything else Ive been looking for!!!" Now, Jimmy had never had a girlfreind before,despite being in the sixth grade. He always prayed that 'she' would come along, and she had.
He went home that night and was daydreaming of her. He put on his Green Day CD and for some reason,things became clear...
"I have to ask her out!!! I've prayed and God has delivered now I have to do the rest!!!" He felt like an idiot asking her out but struggled through these words "I-I-I know you are new here, but..." he stopped there.
"But what Jimmy?" she said impatiently.
"The school dance is coming up and I have nobody to go out with," he rushed to get it over with.
"And you expect me to go with you?!" Jazz said not even trying to come up an excuse.
"Yea..." Jimmy whispered.
She walked away.
Jimmy was heart-broken but said to himself that he wouldnt give up. He couldnt give up. He knew he had a chance.
The next day at school,he tried to tell Jazz how he felt. "Hey Ja..."
She just walked away from him.
"She already has a date dumb-ass," said class clown Matthew. "It's the star of the team, Benjamin, you got no chance."
"I swear Benjamin had a girlfreind already?" Jimmy said.
"He did. Where'd she go anyway?" Said 'Mr. Funnyman'.
"Dunno...Maybe he's using Jazz to make her jealous!!"
The next day he couldn't bring himself to tell her but she found out...oh, she found out...
She slapped him with all the force in her arm. "Fuck you!!! I was going to go to the dance with you?!!"
"Yes now she has no date!!!" he thought. "If I time it right, Jazz will come with me!!!" But wait...who told her??? Jimmy looked up at Matthew and he knew what Jimmy was looking at him for...
"I had to do it ok!!! You wouldnt!! I wanted the best for you and..." Matthew blurted.
"Shutup. I was about to thank you but you've annoyed me now so I won't."
Jimmy had to time it correctly. It could give him the prettiest girl in the school on his arm or a red slap mark across his face. He saw her just then. He acted casually. "Hear youve got no date."
"Nah. Benjamin's a fucker."
"Wanna go with me?" Jimmy asked.
"Yeh..Ok. that'll be fun. See you there!!!" she said, took her books and left.
The night of the dance, Jimmy's mom was making a huge thin of it, straightening his tie and wotnot. "Ok, ok!!" Jimmy said. "I'm fine!"
He left to the dance and met up with Jazz on the way. They walked silently, in case they said something to ruin the moment.
They danced under the disco for hours and hours it sempt,though only a few minutes had passed. The disco ball shone colour everywhere and Jimmy almost cried with happiness. He remembered one of the things his dad used to say to him,"all things must pass."
God rest his hate filled bones.
His heart filled with warmth under the shining disco lights. He was in love. They both where.
The song ended. They looked into each others eyes and...
THEY KISSED!!! jimmy thought he'd faint, but if he did hed miss the kiss.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
