Love Is a Many Painful Thing, chapter 5

In about an hour of getting ready, we all were in thier van driving off to Reprise Records.

We pulled into the parking lot and we all took a piece of the drumkit. I felt someone tap my shoulder and I turned to see Billie, holding Blue's case. "Can you do me a favor?" he asked and I nodded.
"I'll take your drum piece. They left you the biggest one. If you promise not to drop Blue, Ill switch you kay?" he said, and I smiled.
"Really? Alright. I promise," I said and held out my pinkie. We shook and I gently took the guitar case and brought it inside and Billie picked up the last piece of Al's drumkit.

We walked inside and down a hallway. Mike, Al, Jaime and Hayden were all inside.
Billie set down the drum piece and I carefully handed his guitar to him.
He smiled at me and took it back, then took it out and hooked it up, not bothering to check it for scratches.
That flattered me to no end.

I sat on the couch, and then a guy walked in. "Hi, I'm Danny. I'm here to record Sweet Children for your might-be manager. I'll need you girls to be extremely quiet Kay?" he said and we nodded.

The guys started playing and we could tell they were trying thier best. This was their moment. Billie was at his high, Mike was grinning, and Al was smiling, but had this depressed look in his eyes, but played with energy.
"Alright. Ill take this to the guys and We will call you and tell you what we think." he said and we all nodded and unhooked the instruments. I got to take Blue again, and when we got home, Mike, Jaime, and Hayden went home.

Ollie was at work, and Billie and I were laying in his bed, talking about how great it would be to be rich and famous.
"Billie?" I asked
"Yeah?"
"Thanks."
"For what?"
Letting me hold Blue," I said
"I know you are a guitarist yourself, so I figured I could trust you with it," he said
"But it still flattered me to no end that you would trust me with something so special," I said and he chuckled.
"You're welcome," he said
