Is Billie My True Love?, chapter 3

The rest of the day I couldn't keep my mind off of anything but Billie, the image of him lying lifeless on the floor popped into mind whenever it was quiet. I couldn't take it anymore, Billie in hospital without me.
"Miss," I said to my music teacher, "I don't feel well can I go home?"
"Okay Alexis," she said writing me a note to leave school

I walked out the classroom and started to run down the corridor, I got to the student entrance and ran out and up to my black Jaguar XK Convertible. I fiddled in my bag and found my keys. I pulled them out and put them in the exhaust and started the car up. I drove to the hospital as quick as I could. I got there a few minutes later and parked my car and walked into the hospital.

"How can I help you miss?" The receptionist asked
"Billie Joe Armstrong?" I stuttered.
"Room 6."
"Th...thanks," I said and started to walk down the corridor. I stood outside the door that had a 6 on and took a deep breath. I pushed the door and walked in. The room was as white as snow and Billie was lying in the middle of the room snuggly tucked in bed. I pulled up a chair and took his hand, it was warmer then it was when Chris' friend attacked him.

I sat there staring quietly at him for one hour, then the door opened, it was a nurse come to give Billie a check up.
"Are you Mr. Armstrong's sister?" she asked softly
"No I'm his girlfriend. I was there when he was attacked," I said still holding his hand.
"It must have been a shock for you."
"Yeah it was."
She took Billie's hand from me and gave him and injection and left.
His hand twitched, he coughed and opened his eyes slowly.
"Where's... Lexi?" he asked slowly.
"I'm here Billie," I said standing up.
"Give us... a kiss will you." he joked
I bent down and kissed his soft pale lips,
"I was so worried," I said tears stinging my eyes.
"It's okay, I'm fine now."

Another nurse walked in and came to check the stitches in Billie's head. He sat up in bed and the nurse walked to the back of his head, lifted his newly dyed black hair and checked the stitches. All the time whilst he was checking the stitches Billie was looking at me, he noticed the bruise on my cheek and gently put his hand on it. I closed my eyes and left him feel over the bruise. I opened them and smiled at Billie, who smiled back. The nurse left and then Mike popped his head round.

"Yo. Yo. Billie Joe," he said
"Hi Mike, what's it like?" Billie replied. These were their ways of saying hi to each other. Mike walked in and stood behind me. I stood up to put my coat down and Mike stole my chair so I sat with Billie on the hospital bed.

I started to hum one of the songs Billie wrote about his dad, he was hoping to write it with his band but they were searching for a drummer as the old one left. Billie noticed what I was humming and he started singing it. I rested my head on Billie's shoulder and listened to his soft voice singing.

"Here comes the rain again, falling from the stars, drenched in my pain again, becoming who we are." He sang, I could feel my eyelids feeling heavy; before I fell asleep I heard Billie said, "I love you Lexi." He kissed my forehead and I fell asleep.
