Suspicious Minds (Sequal to Say it before it's to late), chapter 1

*Markus' P.O.V*

Me and May, had moved in together in an apartment. Our apartment. It's weird. Time passed so fast after the whole incident with Mark and Billie Joe, Tre, Mike and Adie. A whole year had passed. We had kept in touch with them. We e-mailed each other every other day, and sometimes we would receive a call from them, when they weren't too busy being famous rock-starts. But right now I needed help. From a friend. And I didn't really have any friends with the kind of experience I needed. I was 19, and I wanted to ask May to marry me. I loved her more than anything, and wanted to live with her for the rest of my life. I needed to talk to Billie Joe. But how? I couldn't just call him. They were probably busy with planning a new album or something. And I didn't want to disturb his precious time with his family.

"I'm going out to buy dinner!" May said and looked at me. I was just lying on the couch watching TV.

"Okay, would you rent a movie while you're out? It's Saturday and...you know!" I said, and begged that she would say yes so I could stall her as long as possible. She nodded and gave me a kiss before she walked out. I hurried over to the window to make sure she was gone. When I couldn't see her anymore I turned the computer on and wrote an e-mail and sent it to Billie Joe's address.

"Hey, Billie!
How are things going over there? Good I hope! It's not to stressful being a star? Well I sort of need help on this thing. And I hoped that you could help, since you kind of have more experience than me...and all my friends. So if you could call me on my cell phone as soon as possible that would be great. Oh, don't reschedule or anything, but as soon you have the time, please call me all right? And don't tell May I asked for help ok? Ok!
Thanks
Markus"

I clicked send and sighed happily. I sat back down on the couch and watched Jackass. All of a sudden my cell phone started to vibrate in my pocket and "2000 light-years away" started playing. I jumped up and checked who it was. It was just May. I felt the disappointment when I answered, but I tried to hide it.

"Hey!" I said and sat down again.

"Is something wrong?" May replied. Damn it! Why couldn't I be a better actor.

"No nothing...why did you call?"

"Do you want to see a romantic movie or a comedy?"

"Oh...it's the same with me. You choose!"

"Is a comedy, all right?"

"Yeah, sure!"

"Okay, bye! Love you!"

"Love you too!" I hung up. I laughed to myself. Why would Billie answer this quick anyway. He was probably busy. I continued watching Jackass. Five minutes passed and the phone rang again. What was it May wanted this time. I was kind of annoyed that she called me for no reason. Well, I wouldn't have been annoyed if I wasn't expecting this call. This very, very important call. I grabbed the cell phone and looked at the display. It wasn't May. It was Billie.

"Hello?" I whispered in to the phone.

"Hey, Markus? It's Billie! You wanted me to call!" Billie said.

"Urhm....yeah. I need some help!" I murmured.

"Yeah, the e-mail said so. So what's up?"

"I want to ask May to marry me!"

"Say, what?"

"I want to ask May to marry me! I know it's probably to soon, but I love her! And I wanna spend the rest of my life with her!" I turned the TV off. I needed to hear if May suddenly came in.

"Okay, so you need help on how to ask her?"

I nodded, but realized that he couldn't hear that and answered yes.

"Well, we were planning on visiting you guys, so why don't me and Adie meet you somewhere on Thursday?" he asked.

"Yeah sure. Oh thanks! Billie you have no idea how much this means to me!"

"Don't sweat it!"

*May's P.O.V*

I walked in the door to my and Markus' apartment with the bags of groceries. I was making Markus' favourite for dinner. Lasagne.

"All right! So I'll meet Thursday, 8 pm at Blue!" I heard Markus say. Who was he talking to? I dumped the groceries in the kitchen and walked out into the living-room where Markus was. When he saw me he froze.

"Urhm...okay, see you guys then! B...bye!" he stuttered. He smiled at me and gave me a kiss.

"Who are you going to meet on Thursday?" I asked.

"Just....William and the guys. You know. They wanted to have a guy's night out," he said and as much as I wanted to believe him, I couldn't. I could see that he was hiding something. I didn't want to blow it up, so I just left it at that. Was Markus having an affair? With somebody else, that wasn't me? Was he growing tired of me already?
