Suspicious Minds (Sequal to Say it before it's to late), chapter 3

I hung up the phone. Great, now May thought I was taking Adie away from her as a friend. I sighed.
"I'm sorry!" Adrienne said.
"I just got so excited and forgot about that she's not supposed to know that we're out!"
"It's okay!" I said and smiled at her.
"But to your real big problem.....how to pop the question...." Billie said and bent over the table to whisper something to me. He put a little box in my hand. I opened the box and inside was a beautiful ring with a huge diamond. Much bigger than what I could afford with my crappy pay check from the record store.
"I want you to have it!" Billie whispered and smiled even bigger. My mouth dropped and my eyes widened.
"B...B...Billie...I...I can't accept this! It must cost a fortune, a fortune which I can't pay you back!" I said and stared at the ring. The diamond was twinkling in the light. May would've loved to have a ring like that on her finger.
"No take it! And when you go buy dinner YOU make it and then you set the table and light some candles and buy her a rose and then when she says how delicious...or bad...your food was...you go down on one knee and POP!"
I looked at Billie. He had to be one of the nicest guys in the whole wide world.
"Thanks!" I said and ran out the door to get the ingredients for May's favourite food, which was, luckily for me, Spaghetti Bolognese.
"I'm home and I'm going to make you dinner!" I said cheerfully when I walked in the door. I left the grocery bags in the kitchen and went out in the living room to find May sitting on the couch. She looked up at me and her make-up had run out and made black tracks down her cheeks. She was clearly mad, but once she saw me her face turned red with anger.
"Out with William and the boys huh? Boys night out, huh? So who was the girl I heard on the phone then, huh?" she screamed at me with her fists clenched in anger.
"It was..." I started but didn't get to finish before she left the room and went into the kitchen.
"And here's your make-up dinner, cause you've been cheating on me?" she lifted one of the bags and poured its content out on the floor before she kicked it all around making a huge mess. Squashed tomatoes made red marks so it looked as if she had killed someone, and she had. She was killing me. She was stabbing my heart with healed shoes over and over again. She wouldn't let me explain. She just took things out of the cupboards and threw them at me. Glasses, plates, forks and spoons. I got several cuts in my face and on my legs and arms because of pieces of glass that popped out of the things she threw.
"Well you don't need to keep whatserface a secret anymore, I'm leaving!" she said when she was done throwing things around. I tried to stop her, tried to get the truth out, but it didn't work!
"Yeah, thanks for pretending to love me faggot!" she said and grabbed a few stuff of hers before she slammed the door, leaving me behind. I fell down on the floor, feeling tears fall from my eyes.
"Boys aren't supposed to cry!" I told myself over and over, but it didn't work. I sobbed uncontrollably and right there and then I was sure I was going to die.
