At All Started At A Concert..., chapter 1
Hi, my name is Stephanie Tan. I'm a HUGE Green Day fan although I've only been one for about a year. Everyone at my school thinks I'm weird because I love them so much but fuck them. My friend Hannah supports me. In fact, Hannah and I are going to a concert in Los Angeles this weekend. We're both really excited. Once we got the tickets, we searched the internet for some really awesome Green Day shirts to show off our Green Day fanness (I just made up my own word!). Anyways, today is Friday and the concert's on Saturday and we can't wait for 6:30 tomorrow night!
I just got home from school, not having learned much anyways because I couldn't keep my mind off finally getting to watch Green Day perform live! Just then I heard the familiar beat of Boulevard Of Broken Dreams playing and immediately knew that my phone was ringing. I fished it out of my backpack and answered it.
"Hello?" I said into the receiver.
"Hey Green Day Dudette, it's me, Hannah," she replied. Hannah always calls me Green Day Dudet because of my insane obsession but I don't mind.
"Hey Hannah."
"I'm SOOOOO excited about tomorrow. I just can't wait for it to be 6:30 PM. I really want to see Green Day live!"
"Yeah, I can't wait either. It will be my first time seeing them live and it's going to be great!"
"Yeah I know. So...I'll see you tomorrow!"
"Ok. Bye."
"Bye." And I hung up.
The rest of the day was spent daydreaming about the concert tomorrow and at 10:00, I went to bed and dreamed of Green Day in my sleep.
Yes! Finally it's 6:30! The concert should be starting soon. After many weeks of waiting impatiently for the time to come, I was finally going to see Green Day live for the first time! Just then the lights went out and the concert started off with American Idiot. Hannah and I were screaming at the top of our lungs the whole time they were playing until our throats got sore.
After about an hour, the concert ended with Good Riddance and everyone started to file out of the place. Hannah and I didn't get backstage passes because they were all sold out, but we still had the time of our lives (I still brought my American Idiot album just in case). Hannah's mom arrived before mine and offered me a ride home. I said no thanks and waited patiently for my mom to arrive. Just then some random dude came up to me and said, "Has your ride not come yet?" I shook my head. "Well how would you like it if you got to go backstage?" he asked.
"I would love to but I don't have any money."
"It's completely free! You see, I got this for my wife but she's drunk and now she doesn't want to go. So...do you want it?"
I inspected the pass carefully before saying, "Fine. I'll take it but you have to come with me in case you're lying so I don't have to get in trouble," I answered skeptically.
"Fair enough."
So we walked over to backstage and a bodyguard said, "Passes please." I gave him the pass but not before telling him that this man gave it to me and if it's fake, get him in trouble and not me! It turned out to be real! Wait until I told Hannah about this, she'd be so jealous. I thanked the man a million times and slowly walked in. [i]What would they think about me? Would they think I'm weird? Would they like me? [i]
