*Next Day*

*My POV*

Thank God my mom was sleeping when Kaylee and I finally reached my house.

Speaking of sleep, that was my challenge last night. I couldn't sleep. I couldn't stop thinking about Mike. I so badly wanted to see him again. I loved his laugh, his sense of humor, his looks, and to top it all off, he was way smart. I never caught how old he was though. I knew he was older than me, but the exact age was a mystery. I just guessed he was 17, one year older than me. I thought my girlish dreams about us getting married, I thought of what year it could be, I finally resulted to 1994, three years from now. It seemed reasonable to me. I don't care that I would be 19, I just want to get out of this shithole people like to call Berkeley.

*Mike's POV*

Last night was mind boggling. I couldn't stop thinking about Kia. I loved the way she laughed, how smart she was, or how beautiful she was. She listened to all my stories and jokes, I wasn't surprised we ended up where we were. She was in my mind all night.

I couldn't believe that a girl actually amazed me so much that she was in my dreams. When I would decide to wake up, I would think about her age, which I never found out. I concluded that she had to be 18, one year younger than me. I wanted to see her again, badly. I hoped that what I wanted was soon to come. Kia was what I wanted, and I hope she'd come back in my life soon.

*My POV*

After Kaylee decided to drag me the hell out of bed with a bad hangover, I decided that we were going to the coffeeshop down the street. I could use some coffee to wake me up. Kaylee was static, she's had a thing for coffee makers ever since Mike's band came out with that song '409 In Your Coffeemaker.'

She seemed even more excited today, I guessed it was from finally meeting the guys. Kaylee and I decided to walk to the coffee shop instead of drive, we slowly started our walk to the short distance.

*Mike's POV*

I needed some coffee. Desperately. I left our apartment and started to walk around the block to the coffeeshop. As soon as I reached the sidewalk, Kia was in my mind. I wished that I had asked her out on a date. I'm such an idiot.

What if I never saw her again? I had the prettiest most amazing girl I could find, one who listened to me and enjoyed my company and I may never see her again.

"You let that one slip away Mikey boy," I told myself. And I was right, I am an idiot.

I walked into the coffee shop and saw two girls behind me. I couldn't see their faces because they had hoods on their heads, but I knew who they were. I reassured myself they're just two girls I had seen like once in my life, probably at the Gilman.

They seemed to be having a conversation, "I wish I had just asked him if he wanted to go on a date. I mean, I know it's like the guy's job to ask, but I should have before we left," the tall girl said.

"Just get over it..." the shorter one replied.

"No, Kaylee I can't. I mean, I finally get over my ex, by meeting the guy I've liked forever. I'm afraid I won't see Mike again, and if I do, what if he's showered by another girl?"

I stopped thinking right there.

"Kia?" I asked.

The taller girl looked at me. She took her hood off.

"Mike?"

I could tell she was embarrassed by the tone of her voice.

*My POV*

After getting coffee and talking for a while, Mike finally asked me on a date. We were going to a restaurant tonight, then the movie theater, your typical dinner and a movie. Kaylee was invited as well as Billie and Tré, even though they weren't aware of that yet. Mike walked Kaylee and I back to my house.

"I guess I'll leave you two out here alone," Kaylee said, walking into the house. "I'll be in your room, and you don't care, do you?"

"No," Mike and I said in unison.

We laughed as Kaylee went inside.

"Well, I guess I should be going, huh?" I said.

"Yeah, I guess I should too," Mike replied.

We stared into each other's eyes for what seemed like forever.

"Guess I'll see you tonight," I said.

"Oh, yeah," Mike said.

I walked to my front door.

"Kia?"

"Yeah?"

Mike walked up to me and kissed me for a short amount of time.

"Uh...thanks," I said.

"Don't mention it," Mike said.

"Well, I'll see you tonight," I said.

"Bye," Mike replied, walking away.

I remembered the question I wanted him to answer.

"Mike?!" I called.

Mike walked back to me.

"Yes?"

"Um...I didn't catch your age. How old are you?"

"That's what I wanted to know about you as well. Almost forgot."

"I asked you first," I said flirtatiously.

He laughed.

"I'm 19."

"WHAT?!"

"What? Why is that a what? How old are you?"

"16!"

"WHAT?!"

Oh....fuck...
