Zoe, Her Father, and The Guys, chapter 5
We arrived at the house.
I unlocked the door with the key Tre had given me earlier.
"Here we are." I said, stepping into the house.
"Whoa. You lucked out." Zac said, in shock.
"Yeah, I have a Dad who is rich. He can cheer me up. He is a real jokester. That is my only worry." I replied, heading into the kitchen to get us something to drink.
"Why does that worry you?" Andy asked, taking a diet pepsi from my hand.
Before I answered, I playfully and lightly shoved him as I smiled.
"Because it scares me that he won't be serious when I need him to be. Then, he gets drunk. That really, really scares me." I returned.
"Drunk people? Those scare you?" Joey asked in amazement.
"Yeah. You're probably used to it but I will never get used to it. My step dad always beat me and my mom. That's why." I explained shortly.
"Zoe, Tre would never beat you. And if he does, we will all defend you. I promise." Aaron assured. He made me smile.
I smiled then kissed him softly on the cheek. He then smiled at me.
I returned to looking at the guys. Andy was sad. I could tell by his eyes.
"Andy, what's wrong? You're sad. I can read your eyes." I asked.
"Nothing. I'll tell you later." He whispered in my ear.
I winked at him.
"So, wanna play truth or dare?" I asked, changing the subject.
They guys agreed and Aaron went first.
"Dare." Andy returned.
"I dare you to passionately kiss Zoe. You can't enjoy it either." Aaron dared, and joked.
Andy turned and looked at me and I looked at him.
He cupped my jawline in his hands and our lips clashed.
We immediately tangled our tongues and we did this for about a minute. To be honest, I really enjoyed it.
"Okay, Zoe truth or dare?" Andy questioned.
"Truth." I broke the string.
"Do you want to go out with me?" He asked.
I was shocked at his question.
"Andy. Can I think about it?" I replied with a question.
"Sure." He replied, not a bit disappointed.
"Okay, Joey. Truth or Dare?" I questioned to the young rocker.
"Dare." He replied with a small, shy smile.
"I dare you to prank call Mike." I dared with a small, innocent, and sweet smile.
"Okay." He replied, then getting up.
"Hello?" Joey asked.
"Hey dude. When are we going surfing?" Joey joked as he pulled the surfer dude talk.
"How did you know it was me?" Joey asked in a whine.
"Please don't tell my Dad?" Joey whined again.
"Thanks 'Uncle' Mike." He sighed, relieved.
"Yes I still call you that." He replied to him.
"Okay, bye Mike." He said before he hung up.
"Busted " Zac shouted out.
"Ha ha." Joey said.
"Zac, truth or dare?" He questioned.
"Truth."
"Would you ever go out with a prep if you got paid?" Joey asked with a minor laugh.
"Depends how much I was being paid and if would be up front." Zac resolved.
"Okay, this is the final person and question. Aaron, truth or dare?" He informed then asked.
"Dare."
"Kiss Zoe tenderly." He dared.
Aaron just crawled over to me. As our lips connected, Tre walked in the door.
"Zoe?" He asked in amazement as what I was doing.
I broke Aaron and my kiss and stood up to face him.
"Yes Tre?" I questioned, expecting disappointment.
"Truth or Dare?" He asked.
"Yes Tre." I responded.
"As long as you don't drink my beer or alcohol." He said before he left the room.
I sat back down and returned to Aaron.
Our lips connected once again. I loved it. I couldn't tell if it was better or worse than Andy.
Then, Aaron climbed on top of me.
I broke.
"Not yet." I quietly informed.
He winked, then climbed off.
