My numbed ringing chorus. (Non fanfic), chapter 1

"Oh just fuck off!" I half cried, half shouted, as I stormed out the front door, praying I hadn't forgotten anything. Praying I hadn't left myself behind. I closed the gate behind me, took a few steps and looked back at the house. Not my house, not anymore.
I turned and walked briskly up the road, needed to get away, needed to leave it all behind. I felt in my trenchcoat pocket for my mobile.
"Hey Bry."
"Oh god." then I burst into tears.
"What's wrong?"
I didn't reply, I was too busy choking on my stupid self pity. No I wasn't. I was crying for him. I had to.
"Bry, what's up! tell me! You ok?"
"I...I'll tell you later, I've got nowhere to go-"
"Want me to come over?"
"No. Because I'm not there!"
"Okay where are you?"
I sat down on the grass.
"Doesn't matter, I've left home."
"Uh, why?"
"Because my brother's dead ok! And I've left home finally! I knew it would happen, and I knew I wanted to leave, it's just so unexpected now it's happened, gah I'm not making sense, I'm sorry...I'll talk to you later once I've found somewhere to stay."
"Wait."
My friend paused the line. I heard him talking to someone.
"Xome over, you can stay for a while."
My face curled into a weak smile
"See you in a minute."

Half an hour later I was sat on the grass again, in Trent's back garden. he had just gone inside to find something and I was alone. I had 30 missed calls from my parents on my phone and I didn't give a fuck. It rang again, guess who! I took one look at my mobile. "It's broken anyway," I thought, and hurled it over the fence into next doors garden.
Then I realised how clever that was, as having jsut moved out my financial position would probably not be good enough to buy a new one..
Trent came back out when i was climbing back over the fence
"What the fuck are you doing?"
"Getting my phone."
He laughed. "Okay then!" then he sat down infront of me. "You're surprisingly happy," he said.
I stared at him.
"Oh well, I knew it'd happen someday. Shit happens to everyone, doesn't it, although I will admit this is seriously life changing shitty shit..but hey. I'll live. Just," I smiled.
He pulled me into a hug as tears started running down my face again.
"You'll be fine," he whispered

And I really believed him.
