Sunny days in California, chapter 1
God why did we have to move? I mean I was quite comfortable in Canada. I had tons of friends mainly my best friend Sara. We did everything together. Now my parents are uprooting me and sending me all the way to Rodeo, California.
"Trish!!!!!! Come on we have gotta get a move on if were going to make it to the airport on time!" My mom screamed from downstairs. Her and my dad were really happy to be moving they said they needed "a change of scenery", and I quote them on their exact words.
*Break away from the story: Your name is Trish short for Patrisha. You have an older bro named Cliff and a cat named Leon. In the story you're 17 years old. You have bright blue eyes, dirty blond hair. End of Break*
"I'm FUCKIN COMING!!!!" I screamed back at them.
"TRISH NORRIS NEVER USE THAT LANGUAGE IN OUR HEARING RANGE AGAIN!" My mom and dad yelled in unison. They never liked me swearing for any purpose, no matter how mad I was. I still swore anyway, I never really gave a shit. I grabbed my backpack and my iPod from the floor and walked out of my old room.
It was a long drive to the airport. Mom was sleeping, of course my dad was driving and me and my brother ignored each other the whole way there, him playing with his PSP and me listening to 3 Days Grace on my iPod nano. My brother first spoke to me when we were going through security at the airport.
"When are you going to get rid of those ratty beat up old converse?" Cliff asked me in a disgusted tone, he never liked what I wore. He was more prim and proper then anything.
"Never, alright Cliff? I love my shoes. It's like me telling you to get rid of that ratty old blanket you keep from when you were 6," I replied with an equally annoyed tone. "Mom why do we have to move so far away I mean I'm never going to see Sara again." I was truly going to miss her, but I guess I can always call her on the phone. But it was never going to be the same.
"Look Trish your mother and I know that you're going to miss Sara but we can't change any of this now," said my dad. He looks at me with a sympathetic look on his face. For some reason that made me feel better. I slept for most of the plane ride and the car ride.
When we got there I ran out of the car and into my new house and picked out my room. I dropped what bags I had with me and went back outside to the moving truck to help unpack. Once all the boxes were gone and the movers had left I started decorating my room. By mid-afternoon all my posters were up, most of my clothes were unpacked and in my get this, I have a walk-in closet! I know that's really lame to be excited about but what am I going to do.
After I was done unpacking I went downstairs grabbed an apple and sat by the pool thinking if I should call Sara 'cause she's ahead of me one hour. Crap, she'd still be in school. My thoughts were interrupted when a beach ball hit me in the head.
"Hey can you help us a out?" A voice called I turned around and searched for the person who was talking. When I finally found the source an astonishing pair of blue eyes met mine. The boy had spiky green hair and a devilishly cute smile. "Can you throw me my ball back?" He asked me once again.
"Sure I can, I'm not helpless dude." I throw the ball back and he catches and it falls off the fence well doing so.
"Are you okay?" I screamed over to him. That fall looked like it hurt but apparently it didn't faze him because a few seconds later he was back up on the fence with some leaves stuck in his hair.
"What's your name doll face?" He asks me well wiggling his eye brows up and down like a child.
"My name is Patrisha but people just call me Trish. Who are you?" I asked him, trying to sound flirtatious but I really sucked at it. He looked at me quite shocked as if I had asked Mel Gibson who he was.
"Why I'm the great Tre Cool. I can't believe you haven't heard of me Trish. So I'm guessing you're my new neighbor."
"Yes I am . How could you tell? Oh I know, you must be psychic." I responded with a sarcastic tone. Man he was so cute for some reason my heart started to race uncontrollably, I couldn't help but stare at him.
"Well someone has claws. Look Trish me and my friends we're just hanging out do you wanna come over and chill with us?" He asked me with a puppy dog face. I couldn't say no to him. It's like he had some power over me.
"Sure I have nothing better to do. I guess I could come over and hang for awhile."
"Great come on over the party is waiting for you. It would be rude to hold us all up." He stated this as if it were a bad thing. I walked over to the fence and hopped over with no help from Tre. His backyard was quite like mine, except it had a hammock toward the right corner of the property. There were several people in his backyard. A guy with messy black hair and green eyes, a girl who was right next to him with black dreads and brown eyes, and finally sitting by the poolside, was a guy with bleached blond hair and blue eyes similar to Tre's except I wasn't as attracted to him.
"Trish this is Billie, his girlfriend Adrienne and my other friend Mike." Tre had introduced them one by one and they smiled and said hi nice to meet you in return. The one Tre had introduced as Adrienne came up to me and said finally another girl around here that I can talk to. I laughed at this comment.
We all gathered on Tre's porch and talked for a long time. "So Trish were are you from?" asked Billie he had his arm over Adrienne. Before I responded I looked at him and thought to myself man if only Sara was here.
"I'm from Canada." I responded. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed that Tre was looking at me funny. "Is there something on my face Tre?" He seems caught off guard by this questions and asks
"No why?" His face showed a hint of confusion.
"Well because you keep staring at me I thought I might have something on my face." I told him. He smiled that devilish smile and I felt my cheeks burn up.
"Oh Trish has a thing for Tre!" Screamed Mike with a cheeky grin. Before long Billie and Adrienne joined in Mikes little chant of Trish has a thing for Tre.
"Stop it you guys I don't have a thing for Tre, I'm just not used to this warm weather that's all." I shot back at them with a somewhat serious tone but couldn't help laughing afterwards. The sun was going down and I hadn't realized that it was getting really late.
"Trish! Trish!" I heard my mom calling for me I said goodbye to everyone and headed toward the fence. Just before I hopped back over I felt and a hand on my shoulder. I turned around and there was Tre standing there.
"Ummm... Trish I was wondering if you wanted to hang out with me tomorrow?" As he asked me this he was looking at his converse with great interest.
"Sure Tre, that sounds like fun. What time?"
"How about at 11."
"Sure that sounds great to me, see you then." I hopped over the fence and ran inside. My parents asked me were I was and I told them that I was next door hanging out with the neighbor's daughter Adrienne. I had to lie because I knew my dad would go crazy if he knew about Tre. After dinner I went upstairs and changed into some pajamas. I was typing on the computer with Sara when the phone rang. "Trish it's for you!" Cliff yelled from down the stairs. Who could be calling me I didn't give my number out to anyone. I grabbed the phone from my brother and ran back up to my room.
"State your business," I said with a serious tone.
"Well my business is that I wanna come into your room right now and rape you." I immediately recognized the voice as Tre's. I burst out laughing. Then a few seconds later Tre started laughing.
"So what are you doing Trish?" Asked Tre with a curious tone. It was so adorable I couldn't help but start daydreaming well I was on the phone. I responded in a dreamy tone.
"Nothing, why do you ask?" after I said this I realized that I sounded like a complete moron.
"Well I was wondering if you wanted to come over and chill out possibly have a beer and maybe a joint." I was quite tempted to go but there was no way my parents would let me out now it was practically 11pm.
"Tre I wish I could come over but my parents would never let me out now. I'm sorry."
"No that's okay, I'll still see you tomorrow anyways. I was just hoping that I could hang out with you alone."
"Oh well I wish there was something I could do but there isn't. I'll see you tomorrow Tre alright. Bye."
"Bye." Then there was nothing but a dial tone. Man I felt so bad but it was true my parents wouldn't let me out at this time of night and what was I supposed to tell them our new next door neighbor is inviting me over for a drink and some pot smoking? No big deal. After awhile I went back on to my computer hoping Sara would be on so I could tell her about Tre. YES! She was online. God Bless her obsession with the internet.

I get off the computer and decided that I should go to bed if I'm going to get up early to hang with Tre and the others. So I turn in to catch some zzzzz's.
*4am*
BANG! I awoke with a start to a loud banging noise outside my bedroom window I was freaking out. Then I remember that I kept a baseball bat near my bed incase of emergency's. I walk over to the window. "Who's there I have a bat. I swear I'm not afraid to knock your balls off!" I shouted out the window to warn the person that I was not scared but in all reality I was scared shitless.
"Well it shouldn't be to hard to knock those off!" The person yells back, the voice sounded so familiar yet I couldn't place it. Then it hit me I looked out the window and there was Tre climbing up the side of house with the help of the tree that was right next to my window.
"Tre what are doing here? I could get in so much shit if we're caught." He looked up at me from where he was man he looked so cute in the moonlight. It was like one huge fairy-tale or something. Finally he reaches my window and stares at me for a few seconds.
"Well I wanted to see you so I thought why not come over and visit. Can I come in?" I look at him for a minute and then I smiled in evil smile. He looked a little confused by this.
"No you can't come in Mr. Cool." After I said this I shut the window in his face. I could hear pouting on the other side of the glass and I couldn't help but let come in. I re-opened the window and said he could stay for a little while. He entered my room and took a look around at all the posters on my walls.
"Well I like what you've done with this room. But why isn't there any posters of me on your walls?" he asked me.
"There wasn't any posters left of your giant face," I replied snickering to myself. "You know your lucky you didn't get my parents room they would have killed you," I told him.
"No actually I did get your parents room at first but they were a very quick shag," He told me. I was panicking now. What were my parents going to think if they knew Tre was now in my room? He could tell that I was freaking out and walked over to me. "I was just joking lighten up there." I looked at him with a look of loathing. Then he just burst out laughing. "I can't believe you fell for that one, it's the oldest one the book," He said through fits of giggles.
"Tre that's not funny, seriously, you don't know what my dad is like when he's pissed off." I tried to tell him but he pulled me on to the floor and started tickling me until
I ached all over.
Then we just stopped and looked into each other eyes. Those eyes made me feel so safe and yet so uncertain of myself. It's like they made me question all that I knew. "Trish," he said.
"Yeah Tre?"
"Do you wanna go out with...me? You know like as...my girlfriend?" he sounded so nervous. To me though it was the sweetest sound I've ever heard.
"Yeah Tre I'll be your girlfriend." Then that smile appeared on his face and I just melted. My heart wanted to kiss him, but my head was saying that I hadn't known him long enough to do it. I went with my heart, I pulled him close and I kissed him. It was unbelievable. Suddenly the light went on and we broke apart in total shock at who was standing in the doorway.
"Trish!!!!!! Come on we have gotta get a move on if were going to make it to the airport on time!" My mom screamed from downstairs. Her and my dad were really happy to be moving they said they needed "a change of scenery", and I quote them on their exact words.
