A Day Of Darkness, chapter 2

So, his girlfriend and him walked and walked. The time was getting on quickly it was already 3.30pm, and they had not got very long to go to her house, they came to a set of traffic lights and she pressed the button for him. They waited a short time when the walking sign went green they crossed, he ran over quickly trying to hurry things up but she walked, if only she had of ran, then this might not of happened. A blue van had smacked right into, after it hit, it just kept on driving, a young man in a car nearby opened his door and ran out, he got his mobile phone out and rang for an ambulance. The boy just stared; he could not believe the day he was having.

A long few minutes past when an ambulance arrived, he watched them put her onto a carrier and put her inside the ambulance, he climbed in, and the journey began to the hospital.

Within ten minutes the boy was thinking, why they were not going the right way to the hospital, they had the radio on, and a report came in.

"Here at St Harriet's hospital, we have heard that an ambulance has been stolen, two white men have been impersonating paramedics..."

They turned the radio off and soon they had stopped, in a dark alley, one of them checked the pulse of the girl, she was dead. The boy who had been through so much thought he could take no more, but he had to, for his dog and his girlfriend. He opened the door and ran, one of them chased after him but gave up after a while, now the boy was tired and hungry and totally lonely.

"Why me? What did I ever do to deserve this?" he cried.

He walked at a slow pace down the road.

"Are you okay mate?" someone asked.

The boy turned around and saw a tramp rummaging in a bin.

"No, I need to go home," he sobbed.

"Well let's see what I can do, hey Joe, I need a bit of help here, oh by the way I'm Jim," he said.

Another man appeared out of the alley way, they were both in rags but they looked happy. I explained everything and they knew their way around the city pretty well, and in no time at all they had me on the right track, or at least I thought it was...
