Who Said Love Could Never Last (Sequel to My Life as Tré Cool's Daughter), chapter 1
*Maddie's P.O.V.*
Uh oh... something must be really wrong. I've never heard Abby scream like that.
I ran into the living room.
"Abby, what's wrong?" I asked.
"D... Dad!" she cried.
I took the phone.
"Hello," I said.
"Is this Maddie Wright?" The woman asked.
"Yes," I answered.
"Your husband has been in a serious car accident, and is in a coma. Please come to the hospital right away," she said.
"Oh my God, we'll be there soon," I said.
Abby was crying in Joe's arms. Joe is a tough guy but I could see tears in his eyes.
"Guys, get Alyson, Aiden and Frankito. I'll call Adie and tell her to meet us at the hospital," I said.
"OK, I'll call Uncle Mike cause there's not going to be enough room for all of us in the van," Joe said.
I dialed Adie's number and wiped my eyes.
"Hello," Billie said.
I started crying.
"Maddie, what's wrong? Is there something wrong with one of the kids? Is it one of the triplets?" Billie asked.
"It's Tré," I said.
"What's wrong with Tré?" Billie asked.
"He was in a car accident... and he's in a coma," I cried.
"Oh my God... we'll meet you at the hospital," Billie said.
"OK," I said.
*Abby's P.O.V.*
Joe called Uncle Mike and he said he was going to pick us up. Then we called James. He wasn't there so we left a message on his answering machine.
A couple of minutes later Uncle Mike came.
We brought the triplets into the van.
I sat in the back with Frank and BJ and Joe sat in the middle with Michelle. Aunt Emma was going with Maddie.
When we got to the hospital everyone was waiting for us.
"What did the doctor say?" Uncle Mike asked.
"The doctor said that he broke both of his legs, his left arm, 2 ribs, and he said that there's some bleeding on the brain. If the bleeding doesn't stop, he might not make it. And they're not sure when or if he will wake up from the coma," Maddie cried.
We were all crying.
"You guys can come in to see him now," the doctor said.
I grabbed Frank's carrier and walked into the room.
When I saw Dad laying there with all those tubes and machines hooked up to him I cried. He looked so pitiful.
I just sat on the couch and cried.
Joe wrapped his arms around me.
"Everything's going to be OK," he said.
"But what if he doesn't wake up," I cried.
"Don't worry... he'll wake up," Joe said and kissed me.
James walked in the room.
"I got your message," he said.
Maddie told him what the doctor said.
"Our Mom had major bleeding on the brain and she died the night of the accident," he said.
"I can't lose both of my parents like this!" I cried.
"Shh... Abby, it's going to be OK, he'll wake up and everything will be fine," Joe said.
"Want me to see if Rose can watch the triplets?" James asked.
"OK," Joe said.
"I'll go with you... I have to pick up Stella too," Uncle Mike said.
"OK," James said.
Maddie was sitting beside Dad's bed with the twins in her lap. Ramona was sitting in Jakob's lap crying and Frankito was sitting on the couch.
Adie, Billie and Aunt Emma were getting everyone something to drink.
Half an hour later Uncle Mike, James and Stella came back.
*Stella's P.O.V.*
I went and sat beside Frankito on the couch.
"Hey," I said.
"Hey," he said.
"Everything's going to be OK," I said and hugged him.
"But what if he doesn't wake up," Frankito said.
"He will wake up; God won't let you guys live without a father," I said and stared into his eyes.
"I'm here for you no matter what happens," I said.
"Thanks," he said and smiled.
I kissed him.
"No problem," I said.
He just sat there in shock.
I smiled.
I noticed that Abby, Joe, Ramona and Jakob were watching us.
Jakob gave Frankito thumbs up.
*Abby's P.O.V*
I went and sat beside Dad's bed.
"Dad... Dad please wake up... we need you, especially the triplets. They can't grow up without you. The fans need you too. I can't imagine a world without Tré Cool," I said.
The doctor came back into the room and looked at all the machines that were hooked up to Dad.
"It looks like the bleeding is slowing down, which is a good thing," the doctor said.
"Do you think that Tré will wake up?" Maddie asked.
"There's a 60% chance that he will wake up... I don't know when he will wake up if he does... " the doctor said.
"OK," Maddie said.
The twins fell asleep in Maddie's lap.
"Maddie, do you want us to take the twins home?" I asked.
"OK," she said.
"We're going to Rose's and then we'll come back later," I said.
"OK," Maddie said.
Joe picked up Alyson.
"Wake up Aiden... we're going to Rose's house," I whispered.
He opened his eyes and yawned.
"OK," he said.
We got in the car.
Alyson was still sleeping. Joe carefully put her in her car seat. I put Aiden in his car seat.
When we got to Rose's house she ran out and hugged me.
I started crying.
"Everything's going to be OK, Abbs, don't worry," she said.
"I know... I have a good feeling that he's going to wake up," I said.
"Let's go inside," she said.
We took the twins inside. They were both awake.
"You survived taking care of my kids," I said.
"Ya," she said.
We're gonna stay here for a bit and then we'll go back to the hospital," Joe said.
"OK," she said.
"Are they sleeping?" I asked.
"Ya, I fed them and they fell asleep," she said.
"OK," I said.
"I'm gonna take a quick nap on the couch," I said.
"OK," they said.
Uh oh... something must be really wrong. I've never heard Abby scream like that.
