Starved to death in the Land of Plenty, chapter 3

*Present Day Taryn's P.O.V*

As the next soul was set out to find it's place in this world, The Black Parade started to slow it's pace and it soon came to a full stop. Gerard, Mikey and the rest of the guys jumped down off of the float. Ray, Bob and Frank went off in one direction but Gerard and Mikey cam over to me. Not noticing them I walked over to a tree to set up my sleeping space for the time being. "Boo!" both my brothers screamed and tackeled me to the ground.

"Mikey! Gerard! Get off!" I laughed as Gerard pinned me down and Mikey tickeled me. I Tried to kick Mikey and succeeded.

"Ow! Taryn!" he cried as he rolled over on the black dirt. Gerard laughed loudly.

"Your next!" I said with an evil grin. Gerard let go of me laughing. I hadn't seen him laugh or even smile for ages. It was nice to see him so happy, Mikey too.
I pulled myself up off the ground so I could get back to setting up my camp. As I rolled out my 'bed', well if you call a woven mat and a few clothes in a woven duffle bag for a pillow a bed then be my guest. I gazed over at Gerard who was sitting on a rock, obviously not paying attention to what Frank was saying. He looked so sad, as if our little tickel fight had never happened. I sighed and left my camp for the tree over head.

Gerards's P O V

I couldn't concentrate on what Frank was saying. He nudged me with his elbow. "What's up Gee?" he asked sliding off of the rock, "you don't look so good."

Frank was always so caring. Bless his sleeping soul. "I'm fine," I replied. He looked at me. "Really I am. Stop worrying," I said sliding off of my own rock.

"Well ok," he said slapping me on the back, "I'm gonna go and set up for tonight, Seeya Gee." I watched Frank run off quickly to set up his sleeping arangment.

The sun was going down now. The dim, grey sky was turning a sickly oil colour. I shook my head as I made my way over to the tree Taryn was in. "Heya Tazz," I said climbing the branches.

"Oh hey Gerard," she said absently, "What's up?"

"Nothing much," I said sitting next her.

A small smile spread across her face. I put my arm around her shoulders and held her close. "You okay Gee?" she asked me, looking at me quickly.

"Ye-........no," I said looking out across the vast plain of what we have come to belive is what's left of florida. I couldn't meet her gaze.

"It's okay Gerard," she said holding my hand.

"No it's not," I said still not looking at her, "We should have found Jimmy by now!"

"We will find him," Taryn said sqeezing my hand tight. I sighed shaking my head. I felt Taryn's head on my shoulder, "Sing to me Gerard," she said in a whisper.

"Okay," I replied.

I never said I'd lie and wait forever
If I died, we'd be together
I can't always just forget her
But she could try

At the end of the world
Or the last thing I see
You are
Never coming home
Never coming home
Could I? Should I?
And all the things that you never ever told me
And all the smiles that are ever ever...
Ever...

Get the feeling that you're never
All alone and I remember now
At the top of my lungs in my arms she dies
She dies

At the end of the world
Or the last thing I see
You are
Never coming home
Never coming home
Could I? should I?
And all the things that you never ever told me
And all the smiles that are ever gonna haunt me
Never coming home
Never coming home
Could I? Should I?
And all the wounds that are ever gonna scar me
For all the ghosts that are never gonna catch me

If I fall
If I fall...down

At the end of the world
Or the last thing I see
You are
Never coming home
Never coming home
Never coming home
Never coming home
And all the things that you never ever told me
And all the smiles that are ever gonna haunt me
Never coming home
Never coming home
Could I? Should I?
And all the wounds that are ever gonna scar me
For all the ghosts that are never gonna...

I finished the song as I felt Taryn lean on me in her sleep. I smiled, "Come on dozey," I said slipping off of the branch and lifting her down. She nodded sleepily in my arms as I layed her down on her 'bed'. I put my own woven mat over her for warmth, not that it would do much good. The sile I miss seeped across her sleeping face, her dark eyes closed tight. I layed down next to her on the hard black dirt. "Good night Taryn," I said kissing her cheek, "Pleasent dreams."
