Whatsername's Past (Sequal Of The Truth Behind The Death Of Saint Jimmy), chapter 2

Monday mornings. They are one of the things I hate almost as much as me. School starts again on Mondays. It sucks.

But today, it's good.

Okay, the lessons suck and everything, but I'm meeting up with Jimmy to discuss further onto last night. I ended up coming back in about five, and I wake up at seven so I'm quite tired.

"Are you okay Anna? I heard a smash and I could not get into you room," Joanne said to me.

"Uh, yeah, I was asleep and had my door locked," I stammered as I woke up as I poured the milk into my bowl of Oreo's.

"Anna!" Joanne called as I ended up pouring the milk on the table. "Honestly, are you sure you got to sleep last night?"

"Yeah, but I couldn't get comfy," I said. This wasn't true at all. The sofas down at the 7/11 may have looked tatty but they were really comfortable.

"You look really tired," Joanne said and I didn't reply but carried to eat my cereal.

Yet again, like the usual Monday mornings that I hate, I got changed into some black and deep purple clothes, gothic make up, sorted out my hair and all that stuff then set off to school...

"Hey, Whatsername," I heard someone say and then I was pulled into the shadows of the school grounds.

"Huh... oh hi Jimmy," I said as I saw Jimmy standing before me. His black hair was spiked up in large messy chunks. His dark eyes had black eyeliner neatly smudged underneath them. He was wearing his black tatty leather jacket, slung over his shoulders, tatty ripped black jeans and a "Misfits" t-shirt.

"Hey, how are you? You didn't get caught, did you? By Joanne or whatever she's called. Because we need to see you again tonight," Jimmy asked me.

"No, she didn't catch me, so I can get out tonight after curfew," I said to Jimmy and he looked down smiling at his converse.

"We need you earlier than that," he said, "'Cause we want you to meet the rest, and have you on a sort of trial."

"What time? Joanne may be suspicious," I said, "And what test?"

"I'll tell you about the test later, but about 7. I could come around to yours and all that."

"Well, no one ever comes around for me, so we'd need an excuse... "

"Simple, you're coming around to mine and a few friends house to revise for a science test. We'll say we got put in groups and I ended up with you, and we got on."

"Umm, okay." I sighed, "Do you know where the care home is?"

"Yeah, so I'll come around about 7? You'd better work on Joanne then."

"Oh, she'll be a breeze if she thinks I have friends. Right, but no offence, but try to look sort of smart for when you come, then she'll think we wont get into any trouble," I suggested and he nodded.

"Yeah, that's what me and my mates do when we go around to other people's houses. And I'm your friend James, for this evening, okay?" Jimmy asked me as the bell for morning registration went and I nodded.

"Okay James, I'd better go, you know..." I said and he nodded.

"Well I'm in your class, so I can come with you," Jimmy said and I looked at him.

"You are?" I asked, I haven't heard your name called out," I said frowning.

"That's 'cause I usually bunk it so they don't call my name," Jimmy said and I nodded.

"Yeah, I get you now," I said and we started walking to our class. Jimmy's strides were twice the size of mine, so I had to run slightly to keep up with him. He noticed this, smiled at me and slowed down a bit.

"You didn't need to slow down for me," I told him, "I was fine walking how I was," I added but smiled at him.

"It's about time that people in this school started treating you right. And if they see you hanging with me, they won't dare take the piss out of you," Jimmy said.

"You're so full of yourself, aren't you dude?" I asked him laughing as he held the door to the corridor for me and let me through first. "But also a true gentleman," I joked.

"Well, you know... Whatsername, are you quite strong at climbing and all that? Getting in and out of places quick?" Jimmy asked me.

"Umm, yeah, I used to sneak out of care homes and crap like that through windows, and I used to nick a few things from shops really easily," I told him and he nodded.

"That's brilliant," he said, "I was right, you can be useful. We'll sneak out of school at break and do a few things," he said smiling.

"A few things?" I asked him, not sure if he meant something to do with, well, us.

"Ready for tonight, but then you know..."

"Know what?"

"Well, you might buckle out and be nervous," Jimmy said and raised his eyebrows at me as we arrived outside our form room. "Do you wanna go in first or should I?"

"You better go in first," I said to him and he opened the door and walked in confidently.

I followed, with much less confidence.

I sat down in my seat, pondering what Jimmy said in my mind while he went to the back of the class to his seat.

What did he mean by ready for tonight?

And why should I be nervous?

Does he actually like me?

Or is he just using me?

And what do I have to do tonight?

What are we gonna do when we sneak out of school?
