The Difference Between Love and Preps, chapter 1
"I like it," I muttered we were all sitting in Billie's garge. We as in Tre, Mike, Al, Billie, LeeAnn, Gina, Shaylee, and I.
"Yeah, love how you put the drums in the way you did..." LeeAnn added.
"Yeah, and Billie's voice, there is no other voice like his," Gina got her say in, "And he's hot, don'tcha think so, Angie?"
"No, sorry I don't," I didn't think about Billie that way, I actually never really thought of anyone in our group that way, "Well, I got to go, need to study if I am going to get in college, and get out of this town." I was really into art, and wanted to go to college to learn how to be a better artist than I already was, my friends thought it was the most stupidest thing they ever heard.
"Or you could wait until Billie gets famous, then live off him!" Tre said, off the top of his head.
"Yeah, you could live with me, Ange!" Billie yelled, he liked me, a lot.
"I...don't think so, Billie," I was walking down the drive now, "BYE ALL!" I yelled.
As I went home, I was getting ready to enter Hell, my father wasn't exactly the best father in the world, and my mother was a push over. The only real family member I had that really believed in my was my Aunt Dorothy, but I called her Aunt Dodo, she thought she could see the future, and call me a freak, but I believe her.
"Where the hell have you been?" My father asked as soon as I walked in the door.
"I don't think that is any of your business, you never seemed to care before," I said walking through the living room and up to my room, I studied but soon fell asleep.
The next day I went to work, at Sk8 4Ever. As I walked in I saw a little girl maybe around the age of ten wanting to by a skateboard. I could tell Cody was having trouble, so I went in and helped her find all the stuff she needed, but as soon as they were about to leave, Billie came in, and Billie isn't exactly a person you want around your ten year old daughter. The girl went up to him.
"Do you give skateboard lessons?" She flipped her blonde hair back, her mother looked like something had died.
"Come on Britty, we need to go!" And with that they were gone.
Billie and I started laughing our asses off, we of course thought this was funny, because we always get weird looks from people, and we make fun of them.
"Kay, well I dropped by to see when you get off..." Billie said looking around.
"Cody when do I get off."
"You are closing," Cody muttered, he was working on something.
"Well, until closing..."
"Oh, okay, well if you can come by Hamburger Heaven." He walked out.
When I closed the shop down, I went to the art supplie store.
"Opal, I really need it, can you pull a few strings?" I whined.
"I'm sorry dear, I can't, if I could I would, but I can't." At that moment some guy came up and whispered something in Opal's ear..."Actually, I think I can."
When that was over with, I went out to where the guy went. He was a prep, but I had to thank him.
"Thanks, for that...Oh yeah, by the way I know what you did for me, that is what I am saying thanks for..." I went on.
"Your welcome."
"Is there anything I can do to repay you?"
"Ummm, yes I think there is have dinner with me tomorrow night?"
I wasn't going to pass this up, he may be a prep, but he was cute, "Yeah I will." I told him where to meet me, and left.
The next day the group was all at Hambuger Heaven.
"So did you finish your art?" LeeAnn asked.
"Yeah, I had to go get some supplies though."
"So you got enough money to get them?"
"No, no not exactly..."
"What do you mean not exactly?"
"Well this rich preppie paid for me," Up until that moment, Billie had been busy looking out the window at some bleached blonde who was straddling the back of her boyfriend's Harley. And now his attention was completely on Angie.
"What preppie?" He demanded.
"How should, I know he didn't give me his name."
"Well, what'd he want in return," he once again demanded.
"Nothing."
"You're kidding, they all want something," Billie insisted.
"Well, this one didn't want anything in return."
"I don't believe you!" Buzz hissed.
"Not all guys are like you," She said back with just as much venom in her voice.
"They just wish they were," Tre joked.
Mike gave Billie a pat on the back , and pointed the blonde was sitting now eyeing Billie, but Billie had lost interest in her a while ago.
"Was he cute?" Gina asked.
"I guess, all preppies have the same kind of cute, y'know?"
"Let me guess," Billie snapped. "He was about six feet tall, and had straight blonde hair?"
"How'd you know?"
"Because he is standing outside right now..." Billie snipped.
"I never thought he would show..."
"Yeah, love how you put the drums in the way you did..." LeeAnn added.
"Yeah, and Billie's voice, there is no other voice like his," Gina got her say in, "And he's hot, don'tcha think so, Angie?"
