A young girl named Lillian, at the age of seven had no idea what was in store for her huge future.
She sat in her car listening to tunes, when her favorite rock song came on the radio.
"Turn it up mom!"
Her mother turned up the volume and she belted out the lyrics.
"When I come Around!!!"
Lillian's long straight hair was flying everywhere as she opened the car window. Her bangs straight accross her forehead went in her eyes, causing her to squint.
Her and one of her sisters danced as they sat in the car. They had no idea who the band was, but they loved some of their songs that they had heard. The first one she had heard was Basket Case, then When I Come Around. Later on, she had heard Longview, Welcome To Paradise, Time of Your Life and Brain Stew.
Her parents hated this music, and forbid her to listen to it. She didn't have a computer, so she wasnt able to download music. The songs slowly faded off the radio. Lillian's parent didnt mind the change. She started listening the the Backstreet Boys and the Spice Girls. Even some country music.
She loved horses and she was an ordinary little innocent girl. But the song All The Small Things, a newer bands song, started changing her, until it soon went off the radio.
"When I grow up, I know exactly what I want to be," Lillian explained to her mother. "I want to be a vetranarian." Her mother smiled at her, knowing her daughter was a young intelligant girl who deserved more than she really had.
At school Lillian would run around with her friends on the playground and would talk about Harry Potter.
"You wait Kelsey, someday I will marry Daniel Radcliffe."
Kelsey was her best friend. She met her not too long ago, and she didn't know it, but would be her best friend for years to come. Lillian and Kelsey were always hanging out together, and were always laughing and having fun.
At the end of the school day as usual, Lillian would get picked up by her mom and would get driven home. But this day was different. She did get picked up by her mom and went home, but today at home it was tense. Her parents fought sometimes, but not alot. Or at least not when her and her sisters were around.
Her parents barely spoke too each other for the whole week. Lillian had shared a room with one of her sister's Kaitee, and her oldest sister, Savanna, always had her own room.
Lillian was a bit of a slob, and so was Kaitee. Their room was extremely messy on a saturday afternoon. Their dad came up stairs and saw the mess and he snapped.
"Lillian, Kaitee! Get your asses up here and clean this mess up!"
Right away, Lillian and her sister stopped playing Sega and ran upstairs ready to cry. When her dad swore it was almost as if someone cut their toes off.
"Robert!!" Their mother Maggie yelled at their dad.
"Don't you EVER use that language in front of my children again!"
Lillian sat on her bed and cried, she hated it when her parents fought.
"Clean your god damn room!" Her dad slapped her in the head and she got to work right away. Her vision was blurry from her tears.
Her mom was standing at the doorway furious now. He came out of the room and slammed the door shut. "DON'T YOU EVER HIT MY CHILDREN! EVER! THEIR NOT YOUR FUCKING PROPERTY!"
"THEIR MY CHILDREN AND I CAN HIT THEM IF I GOD DAMN FEEL LIKE IT!"
Savanna ran through my bedroom in tears and slammed the door behind her. We sat on the bunk bed and sat together and cried.
"YOU KNOW WHAT ROBERT! I DON'T WANT YOU AROUND MY CHILDREN ANYMORE! SO JUST LEAVE! WHY THE HELL DID YOU NEED TO YELL AT HER!
JUST BECAUSE SHE MESSED UP HER ROOM A LITTLE!?"
I could hear my mom crying now and they still kept fighting. "FUCK YOU ROBERT! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO HIT ANY OF US! DONT YOU EVER HIT THEM, OR ME, EVER AGAIN! JUST LEAVE!"
"FINE MAYBE I WILL!"
"S-Savaaanaa," I cried into my sisters stomache.
"Are mommy and dad getting a breakup?" I cried even harder at the sound.
I could hear my mom sobbing from downstairs.
"No, no their not. Here we can fix this."
Savanna grabbed paper off the top bed and three pencils. She ripped the paper into little pieces. "Write what you think of when they fight on here, and we will tape them around the house."
I got to work right away. 'Mom and Dad, I love you. Please don't fight, it makes me sad.' I drew a tear drop on there and my sister put tape on it.
I grabbed it and ran into their bathroom and pasted it on their mirror. We all did the same and with hope they would stop.
My mom quietly came into the room and hour later, her eyes were red from crying.
I grabbed my mom and hugged her. My dad still hadn't come home.
"Mom, is d-dad ever gonna come home?"
"O-Of course Lillian."
"Mommy.."
"Yeah?"
"I love you. Please don't fight anymore."
I held onto my mom, and she sat me on her lap and hugged me, rocking me back and forth.
