A Letter To Elise, chapter 4
The attitude of Elise was annoying, she was very different. All attempts of Robert for convincing her to go and have dinner outside from home, were useless at first, but he managed to get her out. She looked happy, and they went to the restaurant with some friends. All of them had a great time. Robert was happy to look at Elise, cause she was smiling and laughing. "That's it"-Robert thought. Finally I will see her happy in the house, she just needed to be far from house. She is the same as before. "But why did I need to bring her here, I don't know why she is sad, I will try to cheer her up as before."
12:00 a.m. Robert looked at his watch. Elise was too happy to get off the chair, and Robert had to stay, he didn't find any sense to the conversation, everyone was drunk, but Robert not that much. He noticed that Elise was too close to Andrew, and Shauna, Andrew's girlfriend, was with her arm around Robert, everyone could say that those were the couples, Andrew-Elise, Robert-Shauna; Robert tried to find sense to that, he knew that they were drunk, so they might not be able to think clear. 2:00 a.m. Robert looked at the watch again, he finally noticed that the restaurant was open the 24 hours, so he said: "Damn, I need to get out of here, I can't stand looking at my wife not paying attention to me"
As soon as Robert stood up, Andrew told him to stay, that they were enjoying it.
"Yeah, you always loved Elise, idiot." He thought, and he grabbed Elise hard by the arm, and both went outside.
"-Robert, what's wrong with you, We were laughing, why didn't you want to stay?"
"-Elise, it's too late, and we have to rest, we can have another meeting someother day. And Shauna was too close, I wanted to get rid of her."
"-Don't worry, I would have defended you, I don't like other woman to get close to you."
"-Well, you have to tell me when is too close, 'cause she almost kissed me."
"-She didn't. She wanted to remove something from your cheek, Andrew dared her."
"-So, besides of drunk, you are blind? That was my mouth, not my cheek."
"-Don't call me drunk you know I don't like to drink a lot."
"-That was before, 'cause today you looked as a pig who hadn't eaten for ages, you drink from the bottle, not from the glass."
"-Don't call me pig. How dare you..."
Another fight started and after the fight, Elise asked Robert to take her home.
No word was pronounced inside the car, Robert was too furious to talk, and Elise was looking through the window. After the silence, Elise said: "I don't know why you were mad, you are not the same. You are very jealous. I don't know why I followed you, I wanted to stay, Andrew and Shauna might be laughing at your attitude, and I wish they might, I wish I could laugh to.
"-Then laugh!" Robert screamed.
"-Yes, I should, let me begin..."-And Elise started to laugh in a sarcastic way criticizing Robert.
"-I can't believe you are doing that, look, home is not so far away, You will laugh more after this, and I might laugh too...
Robert stopped the car.
"-Now, get out of the car right away..."
"-Robert, come on, I'm just joking, you know I wouldn't do such thing to make you become angry, I like to bother you, cause you are more hansome when angry..."
"-Don't say that, now get out!" And he pushed her to get out.
After that, Robert closed the door and headed home.
"-Robert Smith, come back here, I love you please, forgive me..." was all Elise could say before giving up, and walking home...
