Slap In The Face, chapter 19
2 Years Later:
My Daughter Isabella Anna Rose was going to turn 2 in 3 months, Chris and I are still together and he keeps proposing but I'm not ready yet. Bella doesn't call him daddy I feel like its not appropriate, he's uncle Chris to her and will stay that way. After I found out I was pregnant I moved back to my dads house because I wanted my daughter to grow up with a backyard and fresh air. I had just got back to work 3 months ago writing cd reviews and movie reviews for the magazine.
I was just putting Bella to bed when I heard a knock at the door
It was Chris
"Hey sugar whats going on? I asked letting him in
His eyes were bright and he had a huge smile on his face
"I've just finalised the interview for your first piece back at the mag" he said excitedly
"Really excellent what is it going to be?" I asked anxiously
"Well it's a show review and a backstage interview with an international act"
"OH my god, I get to go see a show!!!" I exclaimed I hadn't seen a band play in over 2 years and this was a big considering watching bands play had been a huge part of my life since I was 15 and before Bella.
I grabbed Chris and kissed him thoroughly "What was that for?" he asked
"It's a thank you"
he chuckled "You don't even know what band its for"
"Doesn't matter I'm seeing a show and meeting a band that's the main thing" I replied
"Ummm but who is it?" I asked
"Guess" he said cheekily
"Chrisssss just tell me" I whined
"Okay Okay, you will be spending an evening with the one the only GREEN DAY"
I fainted and woke up with Chris leaning over me
I blushed "Sorry I just um"
He arched an eyebrow "I knew you were a fan, but didn't know you were THAT big of a fan"
I nervously giggled "Um I didn't know they were touring"
"Well now you do, ill look after Bella and you can take the night off stay in town and get the best interview possible" he replied
I was finally in the position I had been dreading ever since American Idiot hit the shelves, They were touring here so even if Chris hadn't sent me on this interview Tre and Mike, who still thought every thing was fine and dandy between BJ and I would have told me to come see them anyway. But I could do this I could hide her protect her and our friendship I just had to be careful that's all.
I spent the next 2 weeks worrying and stressing over what would happen, it put strain on Chris and my relationship because I became snippy and agitated.
Then the day of the show came
I packed my bag and put it in my car then I spent the morning watching cartoons with Bella
"Ok sugar uncle Chris is gonna look after you for the night, but mummy will be home first thing in the morning" I said hugging her close
"Otay mummy" she said
"Yeah mummy uncle Chris and Bella are gonna have lots of fun tonight aren't we" replied Chris taking Bella from my arms
"Yayayayayayay" chanted bella
I laughed "Ok I get the hint, Thanks for doing this Chris" I said kissing his cheek
"You don't have to thank me Lyd, just be a good girl" he said
"Always" I exclaimed
"I know I trust you see you tomorrow babe" he said blowing a kiss
I walked to my car thinking if only I could trust myself.
