I sat on the second row, first day of school after summer holidays. This
wasnot a normal start for me, it was my first day at Pinole Valley High. My
name is Brittani, and I'm fifteen. My older sister Simone, also goes to
this school, it's not more than a year between us, she's sixteen. I took a
look around before the students started poring in.

"Don't sit down beside me, don't sit down beside me," I thought to myself as
the students passed me. In the end, someone did sit down beside me. A guy
with long, blonde hair and Black Sabbath t-shirt. I placed myself as far
away from him as I possibly could. The teacher entered the room, and smiled
at me. I replied her smile by glaring at her. She was old, grey and probably
boring. She had us in maths after all. She started the morning appeal, so I
catched the guy's name. Michael Pritchard.

"Stop staring at me," I thought and looked at him another time. I'd caught his name, John Kiftmeyer. He looked like an alien. He made eyes at me all
the time, how come I got all the ugly guys hanging like clouds around me?
Wonder how Brittani was doing with her new class. She wasn't just my sister,
she was also my best friend, and she always found some attractive guy which
found her attractive too. I envied her for that. I knew she had maths
duringfirst class of the day, I had English, which luckily wasn't as bad as
maths.

"And you're the new girl?" the teacher asked me, and grinned so I could see
all his yellow teeth.

"Yeah," I replied, looking down. I didn't want to look at him. He was too
ugly.

"No, that's wrong," Mike said the 123249875 time during maths. He was like a
stalker, he always looked at my answers, telling me it was wrong. I started
disliking him more and more.

"Hey Mike, leave the lady alone," someone said, and a rubber hit his head.

"Ewww, what did ya do that for, Bill?" Mike said, turning 'round. I turned
around as well. Behind us sat a guy, with curly brown hair and smiled. I'd
never seen anyone with such hair as he had. It looked like a brown cloud,
just hanging 'round his head in disorder. He grinned.

"Brittani, is he bothoring you?" he asked me. How did he know my name?

"How d'ya know my name?" I asked.

"Well, Mrs. Hills always does her morning appeal.." he replied. Of course. I
felt so stupid. Mike laughed. I glared at him, and continued to work.
I didn't like either one of them, but I had a feeling they'd appear a lot
in my further life.
