A Green Day Story, chapter 14

The next morning I awoke with a start, before almost screaming when I felt Billie Joe lying besides me. I laughed at the fact I was scared so easily, and sat upright, carefully prying his arm from around me. I slipped out of my room silently, and began to walk down the hall. I bumped into something along the way. Seeing as I was way to tired to notice, or even care, who it was I bumped into, I just stood there.
"Morning, Amy." The man said, poking my cheek softly. I quickly twitched and returned to reality.
"Oh, hello, Mikey." I smiled and gave him a good-morning hug.
"Sleep well?" He asked me as we both retreated down the stairs.
"Mhm. You?"
"Just dandy." He said, half sarcastically.
"Oolrighty then..." I started to make some coffee and popped two pieces of bread into the toaster. Leaning against the counter, I smiled towards Mike, who was staring at some pictures on the refrigerator.
"You live with your father and grandmother, right?" He asked, eyes still glued to the refrigerator for some reason.
"Yup. Why?"
"Just wanted to know. I haven't seen them yet."
"That's because my dad's away on a business trip and my grandma's at the hospital 'cause she broke her knee." I explained, grabbing the toast and handing one to Mike. Then I poured the coffee and sat down at the table and sighed.
"Good morning, peeps!" A cheery voice called from the doorway. I looked up to see Billie Joe. He stretched and took a seat next to me, pulling away the rest of my toast and taking a bite before kissing me on the cheek.
"'Morning Beej." Mike smirked and leaned back in his chair. He then leaned the chair back on two legs.
"You should be more careful," I started, kicking the leg of his chair, "You could fall."
And with that he fell straight backwards.
"Fucking hell, Amy!" He yelped, scrambling to get back up. I laughed so hard, that I too fell out of my chair.
"You two are crazy," Billie rolled his eyes and helped himself to the rest of my coffee.
I pulled myself back up to my feet and continued to burst out with random giggles at times. Just then, a scraggly haired Ashley trudged into the kitchen. She looked dead; pale as a ghost, and had dark bags under her eyes. Her eyes were red from crying the previous night, and she seemed so lifeless.
"Ash..." I said sympathetically and walked over to her and draped my arms around her. She lifelessly shrugged my arm away from her and slowly walked over and took a seat on the other side of Billie. I sat back down and looked at her.
"Don't worry, hun. I'm totally confident everything'll be alright!" I said in a fake cheerful tone and smiled the best smile I could conjure up. It ate away at me knowing how upset my dear friend was. Looking at her this way made me feel a bit frightened, for I knew that she was always strong, but she seemed so weak now.
We sat in silence a few moments before starting as the phone begant to ring. I rushed up to answer it.
"Hello. Perk residence," I said into the phone.
"Hello. We're calling about Kyle."
"Oh, what about him?"
"He's doing fine and is ready for visitors!" The person at the other line said cheerfully. I sighed the biggest sigh of relief and thanked the person before hanging up.
"So?" Mike asked me.
"Everyone, hurry and get ready to visit Kyle. He's getting better!" And at those words, Ashley finally smiled.

"Kyyyyyle!" I said loudly as we entered Kyle's room in the hospital.
"Keep it down!" Ashley warned me, and hurried over and sat beside Kyle in his bed.
"Awww... He seems so peaceful sleeping there." I cooed and poked his head.
"Wakey wakey..." Billie whispered and shook him till he awoke.
"How? What? Where?!" Kyle said, his head darting back and forth. "Wait... Am I in heaven?"
"Fuck, if you were dead you'd be in hell!" I said with no trace of sympathy in my voice.
"Amy!" He said and hugged me. I hugged him back.
"My fucking god, don't you EVER do something like that again!" I breathed, holding back tears of happiness. Ashley jumped into a group hug and bawled in sheer joy.
"Aw, what the hey!" Billie and Mike shrugged and joined in the happiness and hugging.
"Everyone, could you please keep it down?" A nurse asked, peeking into the room.
"Sure, whatever," I rolled my eyes and we all let go.
We stayed for hours talking and laughing and crying and all that good stuff.
"All right, people! Visiting hours are over," The nurse told us.
"Bye bye, Kyle. Get well soon!" I said and kissed him on the cheek. Billie gave Kyle an evil glare before grabbing my hand and walking off.
"Bye, guys..." Kyle called to us half-heartedly.
