Always, chapter 1
"I one thing I need to say." He looked at my eyes and I melted inside.
"And what is that?" I asked softly.
"I love you." He glanced down.
Liar.
"I have something to say to that..."
"And what may that be?"
"Maybe when times are tough... and we don't even think we can make it... I will never leave your side...I love you"
"All I can say is.... thank you..."
Fragments of a memory.
Tears poured down my face as I stared at the pictures. I tossed them in a pile and set the lit match on top of them.
"Whenever, wherever, I'll be by your side." He told me.
Double liar.
I'd finally given up. Lost hope, drained of tears. My life was broken and who could I blame but him.
"I do know you'd be there.... That's what keeps me going.... Always..."
Boy was I wrong.
The fire danced as the blood made a puddle on the carpet. Another cut to match the red lines on my white skin. Another tear to help me remember.
